It's a 15' piece of burlap twine steaked into the ground and running up to an 18" hanging planter arm.

    Hop trellis help

I was only able to make 15 foot trellises for my first attempt at hop growing. The magnums didn't survive but the cascades are doing well. The main vine has reached the top of the trellis as of today. Can I train it to grow back downward so I get more. The bottom is a little bushy but after 2...

    Dry Hop ruined beer...please help

So it's good to know that you guys have seen this before. I brewed this thing over a month ago and have been looking forward to it. So what I"m describing, it sounds like I'm tasting the "hop dust"? I used gelatin during my dry hopping in the fridge @ 45 degree F. So I should give this a few...

    Dry Hop ruined beer...please help

I guess I should add, that the flavor profile of the "ruined" beer, is very grassy, very earthy, and flat out not delicious. And after checking my notes, it was 2 oz of Cascade pellets.

    Dry Hop ruined beer...please help

So I think my dry hop ruined my beer. I made an IPA and dry hopped w/ 1.5oz of cascade pellets. The brew tasted good pre-dry hop, I racked it off the dry hops (were in a paint strainer bag w/ marbles), into the keg, and force carbed it. It only dry hopped for 6 days. It looks like I may have...

    Homemade Tap handles...pics inside

I thought about adding something, not sure I wanna engrave them...a buddy of mine is a welder, and I may have him pound out some letters, and make them rough looking and attatch a spike to it to mount them.

How long can i dry hop?

Thanks for the input guys. I'll just dry hop right before I leave. Why not dry hop when I get back? Cause I'm gonna need something to drink when I get back.

How long can i dry hop?

Brewing an ipa today. I plan on letting it sit in primary for 10'ish days, and then dry hopping. Problem is...the wife and I are going to Germany for 2 weeks on the 21st, and I doubt the first thing I do when I get home is keg the beer. So we are looking at potentially 3 weeks of dry hopping. I...

    Homemade Tap handles...pics inside

Since this is one of the few things that my wife doesn't share my love of, in fact she thinks I'm kind of an idiot when it comes to these hobby obsessions of mine, I thought i'd share my new tap handles w/ some fellow beer geeks. I took some nice 1.5" square pieces of pine from my big box...

    Does this look normal?

Thanks for easing my mind! I'm pretty excited about being back. I was all extract and bottling in the past, and I told myself if/when I got back to it, i'd only do all grain and keg. Kegerator is ready for it's first batch!

    Does this look normal?

I haven't brewed in a few years, and I'm just getting back to it. Does the head on this fermentation vessel look normal? I ask b/c it doesn't look right to me years later, and we had a few issues in brewing that could've caused some contamination of bacteria. I'm 6 days into primary...
