Brooklyn Brew Shop Everyday IPA Kit Tips

This was my first brew over a year and a half ago. I have come up with a pretty good partial mash/extract clone to do a 5Gal batch of this brew without having to do a full mash and buy from Brooklyn directly. If anyone is interested I will post.

    Priming with honey = gushers?

I used about 1/2 cup for 5 gallons. Following a published recipe. Seems like the only time I get in even carb some gushers some non is with honey. I boil the honey with some water and then put in bucket racking beer on top of the honey and water one would think this would evenly distribute the...

BTW this beer was awesome. Even people who don't like pumpkin beer like it. Very spicy and great on a cold (well here in the NE not so cold) winter night.

What is the WORST beer you have ever had?

No not skunked. I kept trying it now and again the last few years. It's just horrible and watery no mouthfeel at all to this brew I had it bottled an kegged a lot of times it's the only micro at places. I have totally given up on it. Couldn't pay me to drink it.

    A question about bottle conditioning

So you want a definitive answer about a light bulb in your house affecting your beer. Ok I'll say definitively yes. Just cover the bottles. I just use old cases and fill them up or use other boxes. Cover with a sheet too if you want.

    Chimay Cheese - Tried it?

Yes it is good. Two of the big beer place's here in Philly 'Monk's' and 'The Belgian Cafe' both owned by the same company put this on one of their burgers. It is pretty good. Haven't had the cheese 'raw' so to speak, but on a burger it is top notch.
