Starsan question. i.e. Did I screw up

I didn't even realize I could use this till I started searching this morning. I think I will use this if I don't have starsan available.

Starsan question. i.e. Did I screw up

I recently racked two worts nd as usual used starsan in the air locks. After the fermentation slowed down I noticed that the air locks were low on starsan. I had dumped out my brewing day bucket as I pretty much used it up in final cleaning from the racking. Instead of making a new starsan...

Did my 2 batches get infected????

FYI. I racked both beers into my kegs. I took a FG reading, and both ended up within the range the instructions called for. They smelled great, and tasted great!. They are in the kegerator now cooling down and getting some CO2. Will let you all know how they turn out. Thanks Kimo

Did my 2 batches get infected????

Thanks for the feedback. That was going to be my next step as I was planning on taking an FG (and taste it) and then racking into the keg as I will have the siphon all ready and I have my doubts that the witbier's krasen will completely fall.

Did my 2 batches get infected????

This is good to know. I remember when I was brewing one of my first / second set of batches that the fermentation didn't seem to want to start, and it was suggested to kick the temperature up as a cold temp could result in that. Now I am looking forward to doing another batch to test this out...

Did my 2 batches get infected????

HI All, Sorry, this is a little long, but wanted to give a breakdown of the brewing process. I decided, after a little over a year, to brew a couple of batches. I picked up two brewers best kits from my local shop, and everything went well. (brewed a falconer's flight, and a witbier)...

    2nd Batch, Very Cloudy

No, I didn't. Would I allow this to happen while it is in the fridge at 37 degrees, or take it out and just let it sit for a while at 68 - 70 degrees? Kimo

    2nd Batch, Very Cloudy

Yea, I did the cold crash like last time (to the chagrin of my girlfriend as I fill the tub with ice water :) ), which brings it down from 200 - 75 in about 10 - 15 minutes. The only difference between this batch and the previous, was the fact that I kept the carboys in an environment of around...

    2nd Batch, Very Cloudy

Hi, So, I just did my 2nd batch. I did another Belgian Wit and an Alt Ale. I pretty much followed the same process as my first batch, keeping both in the primary for about 14 days. (might have been 12 - 13, but I can't remember). The initial OG was 1.046 for the Alt Ale, and - 1.048 for the...

    Krausen not falling.

Mine Krausen never did fall in my Wit. I decided to take a gravity reading, and it was done, so I racked into my 2nd. Mine was in the primary for 20 days before I moved it to the 2nd. Kimo

My 2 First Batches. Done! (pics)

Hi All, So, my first 2 batches are done. I brewed up a Hefe and a Pale ale. (We named them Nico's Wit (after my Italian Spinone), and Cures What Ales Ya) here is my homebrew kegerator setup and a pic of the Pale Ale. (will post one of the Wit soon) The Pale Ale tastes great, a...

My 2 First Batches. Questions :) (pics)

Hi All, So, I am doing 2 brews right now, a Belgian Wit, and a pale ale. Question 1: I started the Wit 2 weeks ago today, and it still seems to be fermenting away in my primary. (things moving around in there quite a bit, and the chunks are orange peels) Temperature has been around...
