IPA trouble getting dry hops to settle, even with gelatin and cold crash

Is the beer clear? I ask because that seems to be 2X the amount of gelatin that I use and have always seen recommended (1/2tsp for 5 gallons). If I did the conversion right, you used 10g which is around 2.4tsp. Not sure if this could be part of the problem or not - just tossing it out there.

    Hard Seltzer... current wisdom?

I did this and had bad luck with the included yeast. I ended up getting some Mangrove and pitching that which ultimately worked just find. Once mine hit terminal gravity I did use gelatin just to help it clear completely. I didn't use the included flavor crystals, either. We have Torani syrups...

☕ Coffee ☕: Ingredients, Roasting, Grinding, Brewing, and Tasting

Just curious, why are you staying away from the popcorn popper? I started on that and had great results before I moved to my Behmor.

Training Wheels Berliner - good intro to sours

I contacted the owner of Omega yeast and they don't purge the headspace so I stopped doing it. No issues at all. Happy to find and post the email exchange with them should anybody want it.

Funny, I came back to say that we've pulled blueberry out of the Banko, too. I roasted just to FC+ and we let it rest a week and sure enough, there it is. It's coming through in a pourover as well as an espresso shot.

    Another Mystery Coffee Bean Exchange!

Sorry for the delayed response. Yeah, I'm out this round, sorry. Just a lot on my plate right now and even though this is fun, I just don't want to add one more thing. Enjoy all!

Damn, that's sexy. And that Ethiopian is tempting, but I have a lot of various Ethiopians on hand right now and am looking for some variety

This is similar to how I roasted my last test of this bean, too. Trying it tomorrow.

☕ Coffee ☕: Ingredients, Roasting, Grinding, Brewing, and Tasting

I've been finding out how finicky espresso shots can be. Same beans, same grind, but tamping at different 'strengths' produces very different shots. Too hard-packed and it's bitter. Not hard-packed enough and it can be a bit weak. The variability of the tamping is tough to nail down (for me) to...

Anybody getting blueberry from the recent Banko? If so, I'd be curious to know how you roasted it. I tried 1/4lb like I did on previous batches but the wife didn't get any blueberry from it. In the meantime, I'm pulling a smooth shot of Brazilian decaf.

I'm roasting some Banko this morning! Woo hoo! I'm doing two test roasts of 1/4lb each. One to Full City, one to Full City +. The wife tends to like a bit darker roasts but she still gets the nuances of the origin flavor, so we'll see which she prefers (blind test).

Oh, and I see...shall we say....something phallic, albeit a bit disproportioned (trying to be family-friendly here). [emoji1]

Side note on my espresso/cappuccino experiences......some people can make pretty leaves, trees and other designs when they add the milk/cream. Me?......well what do YOU see?!?!

Haven't posted in a bit, but still playing around with different roasts to pull a clean shot of espresso. Finally got some Ethiopian nailed that makes a smooth, tasty pull with zero bitterness - woo hoo! Also drinking some Columbian decaf and using that for cappuccino. Happy Friday, all.

Wow, you win. I recently gave my Behmor a good cleaning and wiped some of that crap off the fan and exhaust port(?) as well.
