    That looks a lot better! Thanks! Now those additions per gallon, is that for total mash including sparge? Or total boil amount. I have 3.75 gallon mash and 4.5gallon sparge

    No that was higher than people said, but I couldn’t get it lowered without putting all the other numbers in the red zone.

    I have had some great input on water profiles for an all grain Kölsch I’m brewing using RO water for the first time using salts. I’ve been playing with the calculators built into beersmith, as well as EZWater and John palmers app, however it can be very frustrating trying to reach my targets...

    I’m Not sure either. The thermostat says the temp is 61.2 (still set at 68 +/- 1) however my digital thermometer inside reads 65.3

    House is set for 72. I woke up this morning and checked it and it was pretty much spot on after changing the delay to 5 minutes the night before. It does seem to favor -2 degrees, even though I have it set for only +/- 1* I think I’ll have to invest in a heating pad or some jacket.

    Thanks for the response. I have taken numerous opinions into consideration and I do think the best thing at this time would be to tape the sensor to the side of the bucket then remove it when I cold crash it. As far as temperatures go, I’m still playing with it as it’s not going so well...

    Thanks for the info! I don’t have a heating mat, but I’m assuming it’s because of the freezer gets too cold the mat is right there to keep it steady? I assumed I’d be okay with the temp controller keeping it in a certain temp range. Thanks

    Bayou classic mash tun?

    I was looking at these brew kettles, http://www.bayouclassiccooking.com/baclbrke.html I've never used a false bottom before and this one says it sits 3 inches above the bottom I'm wondering if that is too high ?? Wouldn't there be a significant amount of water that wouldn't even touch...

    Converting Dark LME to grain

    ive searched on the forum but mostly all I can find is converting light LME. I know the ratio should be someting like 1# grain/.75# LME But what other grains should make up a Dark LME? can you help me convert 6.6 lbs of Dark LME? thanks

    Simple batch sparge in Beersmith2?

    i had some trouble with when i changed my recipe to batch sparge, it wouldnt change on the brew sheet. so i changed it to what i wanted then switched to a whole different recipe, then re opened the recipe i was trying to fix. then it worked for me. hope that makes some sense

    im bad at describing the taste, my gf says the stout taste like vinegar, and i think the porter, which is only 5 weeks old is a more horrible version of the older stout at 5 months. its like sour vinegar. and yeah i sanitized the bottles by spraying some mixed sanitizer in each bottle then...
