    Alcohol without yeast

1- There was wild yeast or bacteria in there that fermented it. 2- Dude, why?

chip clip (binder clip) in boil

I'm no expert but I am pretty sure this is one of those relax, don't worry, have a brew situations. I would guess that at worst a miniscule amount of plastics cooked off into your beer but in a ten gallon batch I really doubt you will taste it, and I'm pretty sure you could eat one of those chip...

    Brainstorming... New Brewhouse Design

I'm a professional sailor, we use shipping containers for all sorts of things. Work shops and shipping mainly, but you can stack them together in all sorts of different configurations and make some pretty cool "buildings" This team was from my hometown, to give you a little idea of what is...

How many gallons of EdWort's Apfelwein have been made?

25,367 No dextrose at the LHBS so 2 lbs of brown sugar it is. Wyeast nutrient and montrachet.

    First Date

I read that to mean "She is a 2 (on a scale of 1-10,) that becomes a 4/10 after putting on your 10x beer goggles"

What's your occupation: Engineer or Non-Engineer

I'm a sailmaker, boatbuilder, and pro sailor. So I build all the stuff the engineers design, then I get to go out, break it, and tell them how they muffed everything up! I like my job(s).

    Share Your Fishing Pictures!!

I'm a professional offshore sailor. This is coming back from a race to Montego Bay a few years ago. With not much else on board but freezed dried and whatever we could pick up in Jamaica, this was probably the best mahi I have ever eaten.

    Leather Wrapped Mash Tun

That's pretty Gucci. Well done. My SWMBO would love it.

desperately seeking a REAL milkshake stout

It might help if the collective genius here knew who made this mythical milkshake that you are trying to replicate. I can't believe I'm the first one to ask, because it sounds awesome.

Where to buy this type of bottle?

Yes I do, on both counts.

Where to buy this type of bottle?

That's about $9 less than I pay for a twelver of SN here in Rhode Island. I'm moving to AZ. But, I still buy all my bottles with beer in them!

    Brewery names--what's your story?

A piece of string walked into a bar. The bartender said "Son, we don't serve your kind in here. Get'out!" The piece of string turned around, walked out, and never looked back. On that day, Frayed Knot Brewing was born. That is my story and I'm sticking to it.

    No address on homebrew websites?

Hey have you checked out Basement Brewhaus - Providence, Rhode Island up in Prov? Their hours kind of suck but I'm going to try to make it up there after Thanksgiving some time.

Seven Bridges Deluxe 2 Stage Brewery?

Hey whoa easy. I never called anything "junk." To each their own, I just happen to be intrigued by both the look and longevity of glass. And to be honest with you, I will probably spend a few hours a day just sitting and watching my beer brew. Can't do that in a plastic bucket.

Seven Bridges Deluxe 2 Stage Brewery?

Thanks 9Volt, but like I said, I'm not interested in cheap plastic kits. Also, I was driving by that hardware store in Chepachet once and stopped in. The kit they sell seems to be about one step above Mr Beer, and is in the aisle next to the home gardening equipment. Not exactly a Home Brew...

Seven Bridges Deluxe 2 Stage Brewery?

Thanks Geer537, I saw that kit on Austin homebrew too. No offense to all the people who do it, but something about brewing in plastic just doesn't sit right with me. I'll definitely spend the extra to go all glass. They quoted me about $50 for shipping, I would spend that much on gas and time...

Seven Bridges Deluxe 2 Stage Brewery?

Unfortunately, I live nowhere near a LHBS, and I don't currently own a car. Pretty much stuck shipping this in from somewhere, and this seems to be the nicest kit I can find online. Shipping from Santa Cruz is expensive though....

Seven Bridges Deluxe 2 Stage Brewery?

Auto siphon, copy. Thanks. As for a conical, I am drooling, but when I said "a little extra coin," little was the operative word. This Seven Bridges kit is pretty much the high end of my budget for this right now, if I want to be able to get ingredients, etc. Someday, someday.... Doing some...

Seven Bridges Deluxe 2 Stage Brewery?

Hey guys, First off, HBT is great. I've been lurking for a while and it is truly one of the finest uses of the Interwebs that I have encountered. So my question is, does anyone have any experience with or opinions about this kit? I already searched the review section, nothing there...
