    Titania!

'Tis the summer season here in Minnesota, and as luck would have it summer falls on a weekend this year! Titania is the wife of Oberon, this is not a clone of Oberon, but rather a companion. This is my summer house wheat, brewed and consumed in 10 gal batches. (Only way to keep up with demand)...

My new favorite yeast! BRY-97 Baby!

I love this yeast! BRY-97! It's dry! It's cheap! It's clean! It drops like a rock when done! It's fast! Did I mention it's dry and cheap? I have used this in 3, 10 gal all grain batches and each one was very clean, with a good malt backbone, and the hops shine through. And clear as a...

    Anyone use Cargill malt?

Just bought a 50lb sack of Cargill 2 row malt for a base malt. The local micro brewery sells his base malt for $40 for a 50 lb sack. I have never used Cargill malt, but the microbrewery puts out some awesome beers! Have you ever used it? How was it?

    Fastest Brew Day Ever!

I measured and ground my grains last night, all 19.25lbs of them. (10 gal batch) At 7:00 I fired up the new electric brew kettle and heated my strike water. I used hot filtered tap water, so it only took 15min to reach my strike. Mashed in and let it sit for an hour. Heated my sparge water...

    Is kegging legal in Utah?

Yup, I'm looking at a possible job in Utah. I know I can homebrew, but it looks like they banned all kegs bigger than 2 liters unless you have a permit. Can anyone tell me if this applies to homebrew? Thanks! Joel

I made a session beer by mistake

Yup, All I can figure was that when I measuring out what was supposed to be 22 lbs of grain for a 10g batch, I got distracted and shorted my grain bill by 3 to 5 lbs. Wonder of wonders, I LIKE the result! Much drier than I usually make, but the US-05 did not have to work as hard to...

A HOT NEW Better Bottle Question!

Hi Folks, Once in a while my LHBS cooks up a tasty all grain wort in their pico system. They "serve" the wort right from the boiler at about 180 degrees into your bucket. I tossed all my buckets due to an infection problem, and now use better bottles. (Love 'em!) How hot a liquid can...
