    Advice on a book purchase

How to Brew by John Palmer is the only brew book I ever bought (so I might be a little bias), but its pretty much covers the basic to start. As well as gets into the nitty gritty science behind zymurgy. At barnes and nobles it $20, which is quite cheap comparied to the other books with half the...

Yea I'd have to agree, you gotta be in a FOB at least right? (i.e internet access) Ya could be in one of those tents with cots like down in Camp Liberty, where you may or may not have stopped at on the way up to Baghdad. Oh, hey..do they still have those bazaars in the green zone?!! I...

Wanting to try it out, St Marys GA

Welcome from Hinesville. Actually Savannah has a home brew club (Savannah Brewers League) that meets at the Moon River brewery once a month and lets people sit in a chat. That might be something to look into. Google it.

Never dump your beer!!! Patience IS a virtue!!! Time heals all things, even beer!

Love the story, but heres the thing I always hear. Even the owner at my HBS said to me that beer should take a week ferm, and a week after bottling. Now I would of taken him at his word, but as I crack that first bottle after those 2 weeks it defientaly tastes "young". I let it sit another...

Good day from South East Georgia

I at one time I was in the Army (M1 Abrams tanker), but I got out in 07 and have continued to work on Hunter Army Airfield as a DA civilian in Savannah since. Liked the area , so I just stayed. My wife actually went and graduated from Bradwell. What year are you talking about?

Ya know, thats what I was planning on doing so I called my LHB and told him what happend. He said come on by and I'll get ya some free yeast since your having trouble. Well the morning I was suppose to go, I found my fermentor rolling along quite nicely (3 days after I pitch the yeast). I...

Appreicate it lefty. No its not a Mr. Beer kit, although i have done that once (learned what "young beer" taste like). Its Coopers IPA malt extract (the bitter, the better) already hopped. Very basic although I got a bad feeling about the dry yeast under the cap. I literally had to knock...

    bottle sanitizing

I heard that myself. I haven't actually tried it, but my logical sense. I think that is the COA I am going to try. Anyone else do it this way? Oh...does that tatic only work w/ bottles or is there any other equipment or things of that sort, that this would be a good way to sanitize?
