[Version 2 Release] RaspberryPints - Digital Taplist Solution

Strangely I had this already set to True and what I posted earlier was all that was being logged. Turned it off last night and just sat down to investigate. Powered back up the Pi and Arduino and everything is normal again! Ran a pour and calibrated the tap, and that is where the error...

[Version 2 Release] RaspberryPints - Digital Taplist Solution

I too have been working off a Mega and just updated both Pi and Pints. I am on serial connection to the Pi (ttyS0) and updated the .ino sketch and line247 of FlowMontior.py for baud 115200. I am getting 'alive' responses from the Mega but nothing beyond that. My log looks like: 2021-10-30...

Almost a catastrophic brew day...someone help me understand what went wrong?

Yes the entire hose swelled like a balloon before I closed the valves and removed the QD. Hot wort was clearly pressurized as it shot out from the disconnected end. Wort was hopped but they all go in a hop spider. Thick walled, yes. Got from either More Beer or Homebrew Hardware. Plate...

Almost a catastrophic brew day...someone help me understand what went wrong?

Some time ago while I'll was still brewing outdoors, I had an event that I still don't quite understand how it happened and spooks me every time I brew, even more so that I've moved indoors. My setup is as follows: Robobrew Bottom port to Blichman pump Pump outlet to inlet of Chiller Plate...

Fermentrack: Fermentation monitoring & BrewPi-www Replacement for Raspberry Pi

NodeRed is a graphical representation of automations using logic flows. I would never have my HA instance functioning without it, but maybe I am a more visual learner I guess! Anyways, if you are already down the HA rabbit hole, you could use a device_tracker integration for the ESP. If it is...

Fermentrack: Fermentation monitoring & BrewPi-www Replacement for Raspberry Pi

Completely agree that it's outside of the scope of these awesome projects! It is certainly something @rkhanso can implement easily for his use case though. I am sure it can be scripted but I don't know how to code, hence why I use NodeRed ;)

Fermentrack: Fermentation monitoring & BrewPi-www Replacement for Raspberry Pi

One idea that may lead you down another rabbit hole is to set-up a local Node-Red instance. It can even run on the same Pi. You can use the endpoints from Fermentrack to a Node-Red flow (what TiltPi uses, essentially), and add into the flow your notification service of choice- Pushbullet...

Fermentrack: Fermentation monitoring & BrewPi-www Replacement for Raspberry Pi

The pain and suffering I've endured from this discovery is evident by the number of hairs left on my head! These cables should not exist, and are now serving well in my household chopped up as power delivery for various IoT/ESP projects. What got it to work? Just so others may learn from...

Fermentrack: Fermentation monitoring & BrewPi-www Replacement for Raspberry Pi

Another suggestion is to check or try another USB cable. Some cheap charging cables do not include the data lines. Plug your phone into a PC with same cable (assuming you are non-Iphone), does it go into storage mode?

Raspberrypints, Pi3, Buster, Arduino Mega 2560 setup

...one other thing to remember is you cannot have serial monitor in IDE open at same time as trying to establish communication with the Pi. Only 1 serial connection at a time will work, so rpints won't log if IDE serial monitor is open simultaneously

Raspberrypints, Pi3, Buster, Arduino Mega 2560 setup

What is your connection between the Pi and Arduino? Are you using USB or the RX/TX pins? If using the RX/TX, the port in the Config.py should be '/dev/ttyS0'. If using USB, you need to figure out what your USB port is. The port would look something like '/dev/ttyACM0'. You can issue a lsusb -l...

Raspberrypints, Pi3, Buster, Arduino Mega 2560 setup

I went through the same troubles with using a Mega. It works if you call the correct PCINT pins (different reference than the Uno) and set baud rate to 115200. 57600 doesn't work, which might be your issue. You'll need to set this in the sketch and flowmon.py(?) config file located in the...

New York FREE Lagunitas-style 12oz. bottles - Pickup Only - Queens, NY

I have about +/- 60 Lagunitas-style 12oz bottles on hand. They are cleaned and sanitized, but have been in storage (covered). Some have labels removed, some don't, but they come off easy in OxyClean & hot water soak and a bit of elbow grease. I started kegging at the beginning of the year and...

New York KCBC in Bushwick, Brooklyn is hiring a brewer (01/2021)

Forgive me if this is not appropriate for this forum. I am not affiliated with the brewery or have any interests in the brewery itself, other than I was excited when the place opened back when I lived in Bushwick. They started out with some really good brews, many of which I have enjoyed...

    Kegerator shipping damage? Komos V2

Similar thing happened to mine, except that the plastic screw bosses had cracked on both sides. The plastic trim at the underside of the overhang is no longer attached on mine, but you can't tell it doesn't bother me terribly. Packaging sucks though for it to have been broken.

Mini Fridge To Cool Water for Flex Ferm Coil Idea

I currently have 5gal of beer fermenting in my new Flex+ and couldn't be more excited. So excited in fact that I skipped an important trial for cooling during my initial tests. I have the cooling coil package with pump sitting in a cooler of water/ice. My current setup is a 10gal cooler filled...

[Version 2 Release] RaspberryPints - Digital Taplist Solution

HA! I have no experience with the Arduino Uno, and frankly it seems very limited by spec. If we can get the RPints sketch running on an ESP32 than that would be awesome! Seems like that little board is way more powerful than an Ardunio, has multiple interrupts, and GPIOs, plus bluetooth. I'm...

[Version 2 Release] RaspberryPints - Digital Taplist Solution

The sketch uses PCINT calls, so long as you call the PCINT pin by number it works. Mega I believe gives you more options than the Uno. I had the Mega lying around so I tried it and got it to work after digging into the sketch and R+R's help. Link to post

[Version 2 Release] RaspberryPints - Digital Taplist Solution

I have R+R's running flawlessly thanks to this thread. Pin mappings are a bit off but it works! Running on pins 11, 12, 51 & 53
