    An alternative to using a pump is to use graduated buckets...... Use your boil kettle to heat mash water. Transfer by bucket to MLT. Mash grain Use your boil kettle to heat sparge water. Transfer by bucket to MLT as needed. Collect mash runnings in bucket until boil kettle is empty...

    Question...are your MLT and HLT hard piped to the structure? If so, what is the plan for cleaning? I am looking to build a similar set up but the plumbing/cleaning has me hesitant. Looks great...BTW.

    Overcarbonated Commercial Beer?

    Overall the beer tasted fine, a bit flat in the glass but ok. The bottles made it too foamy in the mouth. I guess we can hold on to them for a few weeks and see if it improves.

    Another MLT conversion, PVC $20 + cooler

    I have the same type of set up in a cube cooler. It works fine. I used CPVC because it is rated for hot water. I also take it apart to clean it, found too many remnants from previous brews if I tried to clean it by blasting water through and soaking.

    That is the way it looked. Both were fermented in plastic buckets. I guess there will be a long secondary on the one.
