    Mash Tuns

I think I can maintain my temps better this way. Only reason. I'm asking for ideas, help, opinions. If my HLT maintains strike temp plus some, why not circulate this way? There are downsides(as with everything). I think direct radiated heat will be better. Scorching can still occur if an...

    Mash Tuns

OK folks. The wife said BUILD IT! So far my HLT is a keggle, and I have a 20 gallon Kegco boil kettle. I'm looking to get a 130 quart Igloo cooler for a mash tun. Going to put a coil in the cooler and circulate hot water out of the HLT through it to maintain temp(using a controller to run...

    Cleaning station

This is a work in progress. Cleaning table is a water tote cut down. Bucket is a 12 gallon feed bucket and pump is 3/4 hp. I haven't built the manifold yet, will post pics. Got about 150 bucks in it so far!

    In the mail

My new kettle showed up today. That's it on the bottom. My old one on top. From 8 to 20 is a RIDICULOUS jump! To say the least, I'm a bit curious how this first batch goes.

Need to buy a gas burner and brew pot

eBay for burner, preferably with adjustable regulator. I started with an 8 gallon Amcyl pot(still use it after 10 years), HIGHLY recommend that pot.

    After brew cleanup-electric guys

OK, I just rubbed it down with a wet cotton cloth. Do you add anything to water, temp specific?

Buckets Vs Carboys Vs Conicals, Vs Everything else

I do this, but I have an aeration wand I keep in it. Fire the pump up and wait for bubbles. No mold, but I cycle it out once a month.

Buckets Vs Carboys Vs Conicals, Vs Everything else

Pray tell where you're acquiring said buckets.

Buckets Vs Carboys Vs Conicals, Vs Everything else

So far, I haven't ran into a sealing issue with any of my buckets. I clean and sanitise like a carboy, and treat gaskets and orings to keg lube.

Buckets Vs Carboys Vs Conicals, Vs Everything else

They had molasses in them. Guess I need to acquire some 6.5 gallon buckets.

Buckets Vs Carboys Vs Conicals, Vs Everything else

I happened to luck into a SEVERAL 5 gallon buckets(with lids and gaskets). I also have a few carboys(3 to 6.5 gallon). My question here is what is your preference, and why? What else have you guys used to ferment in, and your options on that please.

    Think we ALL agree......

I've been kegging since I shortly started. Bottling was a MAJOR PITA!!! Not quite to the point with my brew area to do one a week(hopefully by the end of the year).
