What happened to Eaton GFCI circuit breakers?

@RufusBrewer I did some Google searching and although I couldn't find a quote from NEC code, the answer I found was that even if it connects it won't fit as intended. Most of what I read suggests where mixing is acceptable, it comes from one company acquiring another like with Eaton & Cutler...

    Kegland Temp Twister

Just wanted to drop a post letting everyone who may wonder if the temp twister fits a fermonster. It does! No fighting with it, it just drops right in. Haven't tested performance yet so I'll have to update everyone once I brew with it.

    Kölsch no filtration

Thought I'd report back. That fruitiness I was getting is much more subtle now. The beer is carbed up nicely and is very refreshing. Perfect for the coming summer heat. Will brew again soon.

Did someone say more fermenter washers?

I repurposed an old MoreBeer bottling bucket today to clean my Fermonsters. It was as easy as cutting out the center of the lid with a box cutter until it was just wide enough for the lip to support its weight. Then I put an 800gph Vivosun pump I already had inside and centered it on the hole I...

    Bottling Tips for the Homebrewer

I agree. While I do use Star San, I don't believe bottling is difficult. Time consuming, yes but I think the important thing is to develop a smooth process and setup your bottling station in a way that flows easily from cleaning to filling and capping.

    Bottling Tips for the Homebrewer

I discovered another dishwasher benefit today. It seems the holes in the top rack between the stims are perfect for holding my bottles after I give them a couple quick shots of sanitizer.II can fit about 36 in my top rack. Unfortunately the holes in the bottom rack are too big to hold any. But...

    Kölsch no filtration

Nice, I bottled today and now the impatient wait begins. I definitely recommend at least a 3 week cold crash. That's what I ended up needing on mind to get everything to drop out. The photo I posted doesn't really do justice to how clear it was. Just wishing I had the right glassware for this beer.

    Kölsch no filtration

Thought I'd post up a quick pick of my hydrometer sample from the Kölsch I just finished. I was a bit worried about clarity since it took FOREVER for Wyeasts Kölsch strain to drop out of suspension. O.G. was 1.048 F.G. was 1.005. I used the recipe from brewing classic styles with a 15 min...

    Withdrawn Kolsch No filtration

    What's in your fermenter(s)?

Got a Kolsch going using the recipe from Brewing Classic Styles but I added a 15 min addition of Huell Melon to the hop bill and adjusted amounts to keep the IBUs the same.

    Recirculation Methods

Interested in how you made that work too. I agree that it'd be much easier to judge when it's time to clean or discard with just the hose.

    Recirculation Methods

I think I'll start with the silicone hose coiled around the inside of the kettle and adjust from there if need be. As a side bar, it also looks like SS brewtech has a sparge arm that attaches to their kettle handle that could also work. They do say it's only for their mash tuns but doubt kettle...

    Recirculation Methods

I considered the auto sparge but wanted something I could either secure through the lid or allow to just rest against the kettle rim to make it easier to get out of the way when it's time to pull the bag. Although I'm not overly concerned about oxidation since the vast majority of things I brew...

    Recirculation Methods

That was another plus for the hose, compared to other options it's cheaper to replace when needed and can be used for other parts of the brewing process. Thanks for your input.

    Recirculation Methods

I'm planning an upgrade going from PWM based BIAB to Aubers DSPR120 controller. I know everyone has a preference, or maybe even bias towards their own method, but I'm trying to get a feel for what would be a better choice between: 1) Ss Brewtech Mash Re-circulation Manifold 2) Locline 3) Simple...

    Omega Lutra yeast?

Here's a shot of the robust porter I made with outta. Not quite fully carbed yet but still very good. I'm surprised how clean it is. Ended up fermenting cool, for kviek, at 72F and pitched a single pouch into 5 gallons of 1.074 wort. I'll definitely be experimenting with lutra more.

    Bottling

To add to what McKnuckle is saying, you would also have to dose the bottles individually with that amount of sugar otherwise you're going to lose a lot of the carbonation built up under pressure if you were to transfer it to a bucket. Counter pressure bottling seems like the best option if this...

    Bottling

Depends on the style of beer you're brewing. In general 2-2.5 volumes will be good for most styles.

    Bottling

Take a look at a carbonation chart for kegging. With enough time at the proper pressure the co2 will dissolve into the beer and provide carbonation. When you find a chart you'll see that at warmer temps it will require higher pressures to reach your desired level of carbonation. Depending on the...
