    New to BIAB

I have been no chill BIAB for last 4 months, and as long as there aren't a ton of hop additions, (which I prefer anyways) I don't foresee my wort chiller getting any more use, in the distant future.

    Cigar Smoked Malt?

You can tell the difference between bloom and mold by scraping off a little. Mold will leave a stain and if its bloom there will be no stain left after u scrape off a sample.

Spotted Cow Extract Clone Help / Challenge...Will Donate $25 to HomeBrewTalk

After looking at my grain bill, I also took off 2 oz of the crystal 20 malt to keep the color pretty close, but the honey malt brings the sweetness right to where I think it should be when comparing to the bottled Spotted Cow.

Seems to be spot on wife and friend's can't tell the dif between Spotted Cow and my Udderly Bovine...

Creating/splitting/storing large yeast starter. How to?

Something other than an Oktoberfest with Oktoberfest yeast

While visiting my LHBS, I was given a pouch of Wyeast Oktoberfest 2633 with a date of 1/05/18. I really don't want to make an Oktoberfest right now, so I thought I would ask, other than a Vienna Lager, are there any other recipes or styles that I could use this in? Something off the beaten...

    Spelt vs Wheat fermentation observation

Brewed a 3.5 gallon batch Hefe yesterday using Edwort's Bavarian Hefe recipe. I deviated from the normal percentage of wheat malt, and went with 50% wheat and 50% spelt in it's place, just for a change of taste. I used WLP 300, same pitch rate as I used on same recipe in the past in a 6.5 gal...

    Prices Going up Again... Yeast

I have learned to do yeast slants. Make my starter from original package of yeast, make the slants from residual yeast left in the package, and then re-use the yeast from the batch that I made from the original package, a couple of times. And on the plus side of all that, I get to play mad...
