    Whole Fruit to purée conversion

Hey everyone. Anyone done any tests with regards to X amount of whole fruit is approximately Y amount of purée? Specifically, looking at converting 7lbs strawberry and 5lbs rhubarb to pure amounts. I’m prepared for trial and error just didn’t know if someone had gone through this already. Thanks!

    Rice Lager

Hey all. Doing a rice Lager coming up as a test batch. Never done one. When building the recipe, I’m looking to use 8lbs of Jasmine Rice. It seems to me that this would be dry, uncooked weight. However, I started thinking about it and figured it would just be safer to check. So, when using...

    WY3787 Dry sub?

Anyone know of a comparable dry yeast to WY3787? From what I’ve read, I haven’t found a solid option. There are ones that are close but not quite there. Thoughts?

    Amber Ale thoughts...

Working on an american amber recipe that we'll be brewing in the near future. My goal is to really try and drive home some of the toffee/biscuity flavors while maybe getting some other unique flavors. While I thought of going the simple route of using a mix of varying crystal malts and victory...

Kegging Hose Sizes (ID dia and length)

I know there’s quite a few people here who brew on larger setups. To anyone kegging full bbl or multiple bbl batches, what size hoses are you all using when transferring from tank to kegs? Took us 3.5 hours to fill 2 half bbls and a sixtel keg last night. I'm pretty sure all of you bigger guys...

    Jockey Box Ice usage

Hey peeps. Doing an event with a jockey box that we’re renting. We’ve never used a jockey box. My question is in relation to the ice usage. Those of you with experience, serving (3) 1bbl batches out of it, will we need to have a ton of ice on hand to refill or do they not go through much ice?

    British Golden Ale

Doing our first ever golden ale. We were looking for something quick and easy to pump out to release with a Hazy IPA. As we've never done one, and from what I've read, there's a lot of ambiguity out there on what makes a good one, looking for a quick sanity check. I don't want an english IPA...

    Affordable high temp sump pump?

Looking for a sump pump, preferably 1/2 HP - 1HP, that can handle high temperatures, minimum 140F. Anyone have any recommendations? I'd like to keep it under $100 but I know beggers can't be choosers.

    Cleaning a sanke keg

Hey everyone. Acquired a couple of sanke kegs today from a fellow HBT member. Looking to come up with a plan to clean them. I have yet to take them apart and these are our first 2 sanke style kegs. From my understanding of how they work... 1. Cleaner will have to be run through the spear...

    Sourvisiae, fruit and vanilla additions

Good morning. We brewed a sour beer using sourvisiae and we added fruit puree which restarted fermentation as planned. We then added vanilla from Beanilla into the tank while it was fermenting. 2 separate readings, 2 days apart and it looks like it's done, however, still got foam on top of...

Oregon Fruit Puree OR Vintners Harvest - Blackberry

Anyone got a reliable source for this product that they're willing to share? Or does anyone have (4) 49 oz cans of this that they're willing to sell? Apparently, Oregon is transitioning out of the cans and into 1.5L bags so there's a shortage of the blackberry currently. Figured I'd check...

    Glycol chiller issue

Having a weird phenomenon happen at the brewery. We are running 2 CF30's on a 1/2 HP penguin chiller with the glycol set to 28F. I can consistently maintain 36F on the crash. However, the minute I try to go lower than that on either tank, I end up with the tank getting WARMER and getting...

    Spike Brewing Gas Manifold PRV

Anyone know if there's a PRV replacement option out there for these Gas Manifold Bundles from Spike Brewing? We have a couple of these. The PRV on these are engraved that they release at 17 PSI. Ours typically start leaking air at 14-15 PSI. We're carbing a hefeweizen currently that I'd...
