    Kit Instructions

I have a Munton's Dockland Porter kit. There are 2 cans of hopped LME and 1 packet of yeast (not sure what kind). The instructions tell me to pour 2 gallons of boiling water into the fermenter, stir in the LME, then top off for a total of 5 gallons. After it cools, sprinkle on the yeast. I...

I tasted a Wee Heavy for the first time yesterday. Pure bliss! Does anyone have a recipe for one? I searched the site but didn't turn up anything.

    Best DME

I was curious what you folks thought was the best DME brand. My LHBS only carries Breiss. They carry a few brands of LME, but only Breiss for a DME.

    Wheat Beers

My current batch is a wheat beer. An Oberon clone to be precise. I used 6 lbs. of 60% wheat, 40% barley DME. I've been told that wheat malt doesn't have much in the way of usable sugars. Is that 40% barley enough to ferment a good beer, or should I have added honey or some other such sugar...

    Liquid Yeast Worries

I brewed my first batch with liquid yeast last night. White Labs London Ale, 35 ml. I had kept it refrigerated until I started brewing the wort, about 6:30 PM. It took an unbelievable amount of time for the wort to cool down enough to pitch. I finished the boil at about 7:30 PM, but it...

    Second chance

I have a question I think I know the answer to, but have to ask. I brewed a batch of an Oberon clone. Being fairly new I did not realize that wheat DME does not have a lot of fermentable sugar. Still ended up at 3.85%. The problem is that I forgot to add bottling sugar when I bottled it. 4...

    Stalled Fermentations

Got a newbie query: Does using liquid yeast result in fewer stalled fermentations? The last batch I brewed stalled and used dry yeast. Are there any types that are less likely to stall? Educate me, oh Uber Brewers!

    Alexander Keith's IPA Clone

I would really love if someone had a recipe for a clone of Alexander Keith's IPA My Canadian friends should be familiar with this Nova Scotian jewel. It's very, very nice!

    Oberon Clone

Does anyone have a recipe for an Oberon clone? If you've never had it you're missing out on something special. It's a citrusy wheat beer that is by far the best beer I've ever had on draft. It's made by Bell's Brewry in Kalamazoo, Michigan.

    Home made sanitizer

Is there anyone who knows of something I can use for a sanitizer from ingredients found at home? Besides bleach, that is. Is there a way I can make it? I don't have any right now and I'm uncomfortable using bleach because it doesn't rinse all that well.

    Fermentation period

I started fermenting a batch last Monday (11/28/05). Within an hour I was getting some bubbles in the airlock. From Tuesday through Thursday it was bubbling away enthusisatically. By Friday the bubbles had slowed to a crawl and now there are none. Is it possible that fermentation could be...

    Priming sugar

Hey! This is my first post. Looking forward to some good discussion and learning a lot. I have a questions regarding priming sugar. I just started a batch in fermentation. I used 1 can of Amber malt extract syrup and 3 pounds of Amber extract powder. Obviously that yielded a lot of...
