    Witbier Largaarden Belgian Wit

I hope it turns out well. Just concerned about the high mash temp killing the enzymes; especially the beta. Fingers crossed.

I've not done a witbier with those hops, so I don't know how they'd turn out. Could just try it and see. Keep in mind that the orange flavor and aroma comes from the coriander seed; not the oranges. The bitter orange peel is more for bittering than flavor from my experience using it.

That's a pretty dry finish. My historical FG on this one has been somewhere between 1.008-1.010 over the years.

I just use whatever type the local home brew store has in stock at the time.

That’s excellent. Glad it turned out great for you. I think oatmeal stout is going to be a regular on my brew schedule.

    Spike - Steam Condenser Lid

How much steam would you get in your brew space by putting ic in at 2 minutes? Stir/whirlpool as normal. I would think (not a strong point), it wouldn’t be too bad. 2 minutes in my opinion is not enough time to sanitize an IC, but removing the lid and putting an IC in at 2 min mark, you'd get 2...

    Spike - Steam Condenser Lid

Yes. I forgot to mention in the video that I had to revert to a CFC instead of my preferred IC. Immersion Chillers and Steam Condensers are not compatible unfortunately. You need to choose one.

It could one of THESE common reasons as described in a recent blog of mine: https://beernbbqbylarry.com/2019/10/31/why-various-brewing-recipe-calculators-give-different-results/ I noticed you didn't mention your designed or actual measured extract efficiency which would be a big player in O.G...

All you need to really do is swap out the 2 row or an equivalent amount of light DME as shown in the attached ZIP file contain both the PDF and the Excel file. For my preferred brand of DME (Munton's), the equivalent amount is 4.75 lb.

Steeping the flaked grains is the way to go. My concern is the lack of it since half of the grain bill is flaked grains but are only 1.5 lb here. Won't be similar to my recipe but should still make a decent beer. Attached are the outputs in PDF from my brewing spreadsheet for your version of the...

    Comparing Homebrewing Software

Good article. For the next time this topic arises, I'd like to submit my free shared brewing spreadsheet for review. It can be downlowed from https://beernbbqbylarry.com/BNBFiles/_Brewing_Recipe_Template_v2_2_5.xlsx or from any of my brewing recipe videos. Many of my followers use it and have...

    Fermentasaurus Review

Actually, I still prefer my good old fashion glass carboy over any of the conicals I've tried thus far. Leaving residual trub in a fermenter for a few weeks is nothing to worry about making removing it an unnecessary step. Since it's unnecessary to remove it, spending a lot of money on...

    Fermentasaurus Review

I agree. I've had recurring issues with my Fermentasaurus clogging every single time I've tried to use the trub jar as well as difficulty cleaning the inside as the opening was too small to get my hand inside to wipe off the stubborn crud. I guess the version 2 is supposed to resolve both...

Azacca Pale Ale: Tasting & Comparison of Safale S-04 vs US-05 Yeast

Chad & I finally got around to tasting and comparing the 10 gallon split batch of azacca pale ale that we brewed in mid-July (video on my YT channel). One 5 gallon batch was fermented with Safale S-04 English Ale yeast and the other with Safale US-05. See what difference a yeast strain has on...

    A Mobile Draft Beer System

I needed to take some kegged homebrew to a party and came up with this; an easy to assemble self-contained transportable draft system on wheels. A wheeled cooler, small keg, CO2 tank, picnic tap, and some ice are all that is required to make you the life of the party. Parts List: Igloo Ice...
