    Oregon Electric Brewing set up.

Hey Bobby. Interested in the panel if it is still around. Not Portland local, but Oregon local and need to make a run to Astoria to get some other gear.

You know what really grinds my gears?!!

Going back to the original start of this thread, you need to understand people that live in Bend. The Bend vortex is a real thing and that is something easy to get sucked into. Bend is a cool resort town that outgrew it's britches and now has more than it's fair share of trust fund halfbacks...

Growth end of bine gone, do I prune bine out

It has been a few years since I grew hops, but I cut broken ones back. It's a lot like topping a tree and the height is capped at this point. I had other viable bines and by cutting these back, it allowed those resources to the ones that had a chance of reaching full height. You will likely...

Best storage solution for 5 gal batches

I grabbed most of my kegs from either Craigslist or local HB club. Same for faucets, CO2 tanks and a regulator. I did buy my first regulator from a website. Sometimes if you check these and regular basis, you can catch a deal on kegging equipment.

Hops suggestion for pale ale recipe

Falconer's Flight is a great choice for a Pale Ale if you are looking for some citrusy notes.

    First recipe ever made.....any critiques?

The short answer to this is if you decide to drop the Crystal down as suggested above you will see the estimated FG come down as well. Brewing software is a good tool, but not exact. The only way to really know how fermentable each batch is to do a forced ferment of leftover wort. To do a...

    Maiden voyage

I would go with a style that you are familiar with, but before that I would put this system through its paces with just water first. That will give you an idea of what your inputs need to be based on boil off, dead space, etc. Making sure you come out close to where you expected is a component...

    Fear sells - The Vessi

I remember hearing a podcast on this. I believe it was a skunk works project from an arm of GE that works on innovation. It's a cool concept, but more of a novelty in my mind. A really expensive novelty. If they could come up with a 3 or 4 vessel version and keep the price reasonable, then...

I have a two keg system. I want to make it three...what do I need?

There are a number of options, but this will give you an idea of where to start. There are a number of different configurations you can get to expand. Think about where you want to be down the road and don't limit yourself today...

Beer deterioration in un-refridgerated kegs during summer

Tough to take a swing at this without knowing more about the beer. I don't see any reason to get into the whole hops as preservatives thing on this, but 30C is pretty warm hinging on what the cooling swing is. Stability could come into question depending on how they formulated this recipe and...

    Affordable kegs and co2 tanks

Outside of some freebies from a friend to get started, thanks Rich, most of my kegs have come off Craiglist. It is good practice to ask why they are getting rid of them. I have had nothing, but good luck with the guys that say their wife told them to free up some room in the garage. One other...

    Will this clear up?

Gelatin is a darn good fining agent, but time and lower temps will also drop it out.

Stupid things the worker at the LHBS said

The time the guy told me to substitute plain 2-row for Maris Otter "because it really doesn't make a difference." That was the last time I was in that shop.

    What are you drinking now?

A Dale's Pale. Been awhile since I have had one and decided it was time to grab some.
