Looking to expand, buying new equipment.

I couldn't agree more. Your cost will drop (assuming you can buy in bulk) and you will grain more control over your recipes.

Drip trays on my new keezer

I can't recall what catalog I saw it in now, but they had a very interesting solution I plan to use myself. Basically it was wire (copper it looked like) that was twisted in a cool fashion to hook over a tap and hang a shot glass below. Although this isn't a good solution for gushers, it...

    Recommend a good kit??

I assume you are referring to an equipment kit rather than a recipe kit. That being said, I believe just about any kit is going to have the basics. I noticed some kits now have a cheap one use thermometer rather than a true submersible one. That might be an upgrade you want to consider...

Carboys on Ebay... Is this possible??!!??!!

I've had several (2 or 3 anyway) Wii auctions pulled for "erroneous" shipping charges over the last 18 month. What's erroneous you ask...20 bucks according to ebay.

    Quick Disconnects: Plastic? Brass? SS?

One of my club members suggested putting silicone "sleeves" on the females to insulate. I thought this was a fantastic idea to combat the heat. I'd imagine a couple feet of hose would give you all the sleeves you could use.

    Tax Return/Economic Stimulus funds.....

I have something similar an it will hold 6 kegs with room left over.

Is a street light going to mess with my hops flowering?

I've done a good amount of indoor gardening over the years and I highly doubt this is going to be much of an issue. The light has dissipated so greatly by the time it reaches the ground its hardly recognizable as a light source to plants. If you look around the internet you can find some info...

    Removing left over copper

If you have access to the inside from one end, just roll up a piece of sand paper and go to town.

    Fear the Banjo

Assume a balloon will not pop if you stick it, but rather deflate. Now consider two needles, the first is the diameter of a fast food straw, the other is the size of a typical needle. Which will deflate the balloon faster? However, which has more pressure behind it?

    Fear the Banjo

I can't find jack about getting the right mix, so I'll do my best to explain. Since the number is higher, you assume more gas would be passing through, however, this is misleading, as its actually the amount of pressure the regulator allows, not the amount of gas. OK take for instance your...

    Fear the Banjo

Here is the site: http://bayouclassicdepot.com/kab4_banjo_burner.htm When I ordered this before the holidays they flat out said a 30 psi burner was suggested. Looks like they toned this down, and just added the 20 buck upgrade drop down. I'll see what I can dig up about achieving a good...

    Fear the Banjo

A 30psi regulator is required equipment for this burner in my opinion. I currently have the 20 that came with it and its insanely wasteful. I have tried every possible adjustment in both air and propane and anyway you cut it (pun intended!) you get a over-rich flame. In fact, the website...

Thanks! That is what I was kicking around as well.

    Grain Subs?

I'm trying out a recipe this weekend and I'm not sure how close I'm going to come to the actual grains. I have brewed this once before using Dark Crystal in place of the D Munich and it was great, but I want to see what the difference is. It calls for: German Dark Munich Belgian...

Has anyone ordered from these guy's?

Yep, don't be fooled by their low budget site. Great seller. However, I think they raised prices by a buck or so over the last month or two.

    Cleaning stainless conicals

Cool, simple explanation. I hope to get one of these soon, so this really sparked my interest.

    Home Depot/Igloo Drink Cooler Closeout

No Dice in St Louis either. Its a seasonal product in our area and they will not have anymore until spring.

    Cleaning stainless conicals

OK I'm a bit confused, I had to miss something. The Problem: Your first batch in the new SS Con has a metallic taste. The Cause: The SS is not properly oxidized. The Solution: Without access too nitric acid, allow the metal exposure to air and it will oxidize naturally. So did...

Build a wort chiller is regular cooper pipe okay?

Just a follow up on the above offer...I have exactly 25' in my cf chiller and even with my water at a trickle I see sub 75 degree temps. I'm sure 20' would be fine, although you might have to turn up the water a bit.
