    Propane Burner Timer/Cut Off

Yes, that's the one that I was considering. Costly though, as you say. Nice salmon fly, btw...

    Propane Burner Timer/Cut Off

I'm looking for an inexpensive propane burner timer/cut off device. Let's say I want the burner to stay on for an hour, and then cut off. It doesn't need to be fancier, i.e., it's not going to be tied in to a temperature gauge, etc.

What Is Hoch-Kurz Mashing and Some Other Questions

I'm returning to brewing after a long hiatus. I used to do German decoctions, but as I started out with single-infusion British ales, I'd like to start with an ale this time around. Does anyone know where to find Weyermann's step-infusion recipes? They had different recipes for different...

How to attach a wooden side to a stainless steel work bench?

I guess I could always cut that piece of SS that I have to size and attach it to the top and bottom of the work bench with SS bolts and nuts.

How to attach a wooden side to a stainless steel work bench?

I have some thin SS at home. How would you hang a bracket from the work bench? Sorry - my DIY skills are limited, but I'm willing to learn!

How to attach a wooden side to a stainless steel work bench?

Attach hop filter and chiller, and a couple of pumps.

How to attach a wooden side to a stainless steel work bench?

Thank you - that makes perfect sense.

How to attach a wooden side to a stainless steel work bench?

Right - so you'd drill the holes through the front of the bench, and tighten them from the back, under the shelving?

How to attach a wooden side to a stainless steel work bench?

I'd like to attach some equipment to the front of this work bench. How would you attach a wooden side to the front?

    Long fermentation and clearing stage

Thank you. Something to look into after my move and when the new brewery is up and running.

    Long fermentation and clearing stage

I had a unfiltered cider recently that was very good - probably one of the best I've ever tasted. The brewer stated that he keeps the fermented cider on the lees for 45 days, and only racks it once before letting it age. I'm wondering if other cider makers here have done something similar? My...

SS FTSs Temperature Control Coil on a Blichmann Fermenator?

I've been able to build the unit but I haven't put it to use yet. I've been too busy with family matters. But I plan to use it after Christmas. I'll post then and let you know how it goes.

Optimal Temperature for Internal SS Coil?

I've already run the gamut of lowering/raising ambient temperarure in a chest freezer using an STC-1000 and a paint can/light bulb with carboys, to fitting a SS fermenter with a heating pad and a Ranco controller (this worked fine until the pad developed a short and the fermenter developed a...

Optimal Temperature for Internal SS Coil?

I've DIY'd an internal cooling/heating coil for my Blichmann 14.5 G Fermenter and I've had success in the warmer months using chilled water and a pump. Basically the pump turns on when the fermentation temperature gets above a set point and turns off when it gets below a set point. Question...

SS FTSs Temperature Control Coil on a Blichmann Fermenator?

Just an update: The compression fittings from Brewhardware were too large and I'm going to return them. They were good about it, as usual, and I ended up getting another piece of hardware from them for another project. I got the compression fittings from StainlessBrewing that will fit the...

Question about transfer from sparge tun to boil kettle

I've been transferring for several years using a pump and 1/2" silicone tubing. My sparge tun is on a small table, lower and next to a larger table that holds my hot lauter tun and boil kettle; the pump is near the ground below the sparge tun. When I transfer hot wort from the sparge tun to the...

SS FTSs Temperature Control Coil on a Blichmann Fermenator?

I always do 10+ gallon batches - especially since I switched to using tri-decoction method for brewing lagers. It's a very long day and I can't justify the time for brewing smaller batches. Besides - as long as you have the equipment, there's no real extra work involved. I fill my Blichmann...

SS FTSs Temperature Control Coil on a Blichmann Fermenator?

I decided to try out the 3" coil since I'd like the convenience of attaching it to the corny keg lid that fits on top of the Blichmann 14G Fermenator. After some consideration I decided to go weldless using pass-through compression fittings from Brewhardware. They are currently out of stock but...
