    Re-introduction

Hey folks, I have been a member of the forum for a while and brewed quite a bit of beer and cider. I then retired, as I was on some meds that didn’t get along with alcohol very well. I sold all my full sized stuff and entertained going into the Gallon brewing end of things, but just never...

    Am I Infected???

I racked this cider to secondary last week because it looked like it was finished. Went down to check it today and this is what I saw! This is fresh pressed cider with a cup of dextrose and wild yeast. Milky bubbles and milky film on carboy. Tell me what has happened?

    Completely lost!!!

Eh everyone. I started two batches of hard cider about a week and a half ago. One is straight up fresh pressed with a cup of dextrose to help ABV. No yeast, just put an air lock on and went to town. OG 1.058 Second batch was the same only I threw a bag of fresh cranberries in some boiling water...

    Smoker Suggestions

Hey group, I know this has likely been asked a zillion times, but here goes... I smoked my first ever eye of round on the weekend on my gas grill. I figured if I was going to wreck anything, a $9.00 piece of meat would be the way to go. Good news, it turned out AWESOME, better news, I am...

Am I stalled, how to fix??

I started a Charlie P. stout on Thursday night. It is a Cooper's Stout kit done with 1.1kgs of DME, hop additions and Nottingham yeast. I read the Nottingham package and pitched in the proper temp. range and put the primary in my furnace room where it has remained between 65 and 68f. I checked...

What do i do with this?

So I went to the LBS to buy a spigot to make a bottling bucket. He had the spigot and some cool parts that will help make the bucket but then he said it was $19.95 for a 23l food grade bucket. Fair price, but on my way in to the store there was one of the jugs ( pictures below) outside marked...

    Sence in doubling sugar?

So my neighbour and brewing buddy has just started a batch of Coopers IPA. He has been messing around with his recipes and techniques since he started brewing and now he has done this batch with all the recommended dextrose plus that amount if liquid malt extract. So basically double the sugar...

    1921 Indestro capper restore

Not sure this fits here but I am restoring a 1921 Indestro bench capper. I bought it off the son of the original owner and got the cappers history as well. It has had a lot of love and use, so I decided to take it right down to the metal and refinish. Here it is before paint!

    Apple Juice/cider option? roasting?

Hello everyone, since getting back into Home Brewing, my wife has taken no interest in the hobby at all. That was until I said that I was going to try a Cider. One of my wife's fave drinks is a Cran/Apple Cider from our local Brew Pub. My question is this. Instead of buying UV pasturized cider...

    Canadian Blonde advice

Hey everyone, I have a Coopers Canadian Blonde extract and some left over quantities I ingredients. I just need a little help with the ratios. The kits calls for 1kg of Coopers Brew enhancer 1 but all I have is about 275g of Dextrose and 1.3kg of Light dry malt. Do I just use the amount of...

    How soon is too soon?

Hey everyone. I M back in to brewing beer after almost 2 decades off. I have recently started a Vanilla Cream Ale batch using a recipe off the Coopers website. Called for one can of their Australian Pale Ale, LDM, Dextrose, maple syrup, and vanilla. I boiled up the LDM, syrup, vanilla and water...
