If anyone in the DC area hasn't been to Port City in Alexandria, or DC Brau, in DC, I highly recommend visiting these breweries. Good beer and good people!

Nothing that can kill you can grow in your beer...

Yep, probably food poisoning...it'll likely be tough to drink the same beer again after having it come back up so violently, but I doubt that was the cause. Good luck! :mug:

    what would this recipe make?

Good luck Dichotomus! Definitely interested in hearing how this turns out...very interesting brew/method... I've use coffee many times in stouts and I usually brew a fairly strong 10 cup pot of dark roast coffee and dump in the kettle at flame out. That works great for me...plenty of coffee...

Just built this last week...bought a 7.2 cu ft freezer from Lowes and converted it. :ban: Had to reinforce the lid with a block of wood (1" X 12" X 12"). Managed to slide it in between the insulation and sheet metal.

Forgot to add Chocolate Malt - can I add tomorrow?

Yep, just steep the chocolate malt. I would probably add a little extract and boil for 15 minutes after the steep to try get the gravity up. The only reason to boil would be for sanitation reasons... Good luck!:mug:

    worst beer you ever made

I've had a few "learning experiences" over the years...my absolute worst was brewed in 2001 and became known as the "Gatorade of Beers" by my Marine Corps brothers. I attempted to brew a Wit and wanted to put a "hint" of orange in it, but didn't know what I was doing at all. I grated zest...

Racking stuck beer on a different yeast cake

I've re-pitched directly into the primary in the past and didn't notice any problems... As for transfering onto the IPA yeast, I would certainly go for it and see what happens. With the high gravity beer, you may need a yeast that can handle the higher alcohol content...not entirely sure on...

What I did for beer today

Got my delivery from Lowes and built a new kegerator... 7.2 Cu. Ft. Frigidaire I think I'll be able to fit four kegs...put the CO2 on the hump.
