    Update on pilsner

    I'm currently brewing (well i think I am ) a Cooper's 86 day pilsner ... Brewing at 12 degrees c .. Now without opening the lid I can't see much of a krasuen on the top . But can see about half an inch of sediment on the bottom . Now I know lager are usually called bottom fermenting beers so...

    Lager fermentation smell

    Just wondering ... I took the lid if my fermentation bin today to take a sample.for my gravity reading ..and it smells super eggy .. I've read that lagers do smell like this so I'm guessing this is ok ? Yeast has been pitched for about 4 days :)

    Lagering a pilsner help?

    I'm going to be taking my pilsner out of the fermenting bin after doing a diacetyl rest into demijohns for lagering ... Would you prime the demijohns with sugar or wait until bottling .. Also would demijohns be ok for lagering and im guessing i still fit an airlock on it? I'm just thinking that...

    Brewing a pilsner ..help with rest and secondary fermentation

    Currently brewing Cooper's 86 day pilsner it's fermenting at 13°c I am wondering would you rest it for a few days (doing the diacetyl rest) at higher temperatures around 18-20) And then do a second fermentation ? What I'm asking is would it be ok to use a demijohn for secondary fermentation...
