    Cracking of plastic auto siphon?

Has anyone else had plastic brewing equipment/tools crack from overnight soaks in PBW? This has happened to me twice now and thinking it's from the long soaks in PBW after a brew session. Also seen this on a hyrdometer test jar. Thanks and Cheers!

Volume of yeast starters and pkgs of yeast?

Hello, I have only made a few yeast starters and normally just pitch more yeast, but recently I have been trying to use starters. I use Mr malty yeast pitch rate calculator and on my bigger beers (over 1.075 OG) it usually tells me to use 2 pkgs of liquid yeast and a 1 liter starter, can't I...

Actual volume in fermenter is usually around 2.75 gallons so I end up with 2.5 in keg. I have seen alot of 3 gallon but...

    Home Brewing has spoiled me

Sometimes going out and finding places that serve good craft beer can be a challenge. I always seem to compare beer that I'm served to the beer I brew and have at home. Unfortunately many places don't serve and store good craft beer properly or it's run through dirty keg lines which can lead to...

    Kegging Newbie

Looking for input regarding kegging, just kegged my first homebrew and the beer is slowly getting carbonated but it seems my co2 tank is emptying faster then I expected. I set my regulator to the desired setting and just left everything open. I'm wondering if maybe I should just pressurize keg...

First all grain batch not so good

Been brewing beer for about 10years , all extract up till now. I think my first all grain batch in my new Fast Ferment conical fermenter was doomed from the start as I noticed no airlock activity during fermentation. Once fermenter was empty as after bottling I recovered the gasket down inside...
