Brew Stand Propane Supply Hose Question

I'm in the process of designing my Brutus-esque brew stand and I'm looking to order a regulator and hose to supply the burners. I'd prefer to mount the regulator onboard the stand so it's not flopping around with the loose end that connects to the tank - seems less likely to get damaged from...

    another Safale US-05 question

Did you see any krausen? S-05 should ferment no problem at 66. Just fermented a batch a 63.

    Help with mash temps

Curious to see what answers you get as well. Designing my brew stand system and wondering about temp probe placement myself. It seems that in a direct fired RIMS, if you are cycling the burner based on the outlet temperature, the burner would cycle constantly. Maybe it doesn't heat the wort up...

    concentrated all grain wort

Keep in mind that you don't want to do your boil with the lid on. It's ok to start with it on to get to a boil faster but once you are boiling, you should take the lid off. During the boil, there are things being boiled off that you want out of your beer, not condensed on the bottom of your lid...

    Furious with iBrewmaster

Unrelated to your question and your probably already know this, but I thought I'd point out that you'll want more than 5 gallons going into your boil kettle or you won't end up with 5 gallons in your fermenter. You're going to lose some to those hops and boil off. I'm not sure how NB sizes...

distance from banjo to wind screen

I think the more important thing is making sure you have a place for the exhaust gas to go. You'll need to stand your pot/keggle above the windscreen a bit so there is a place for exhaust gases to escape. Some have also cut vent holes in the lower rim of their keggles.

distance from banjo to wind screen

I would think the pie shape areas inside the burner would be plenty to allow the burner to draw air in. Blickmann Engineering would seem to agree. Their burner is the one on the right below.

    considering mypin TA4 or sestos

I haven't used the TA4 but just quickly looking over the specs I see no reason why they wouldn't work. Where were you thinking of ordering these? Planning my own build now and might have to consider these. I see they have a timer as well if you were thinking of putting a timer in your panel.

Brew Stand Casters - How many?

Are you going 10 gallon batches? Larger? Water weighs 8.3 lbs per gallon. Figure your average weight of grain per batch. Some info on weight per linear foot of square tubing. http://www.saginawpipe.com/square_rectangular_tube.htm You're probably using smaller than 3/16 wall so will be less...

    Threaded Pipe for Brew Stand???

Pick up a flux core MIG welder for $90 at Harbor Freight and teach yourself to weld. Edit: I understand you said you can't weld and we are discussing alternatives, but I'm throwing that out there. Maybe you think it's too expensive to get a welder or you don't think you can learn. Plenty of...

Here's a thread with some good pics of milled grain. https://www.homebrewtalk.com/f36/show-us-your-milled-grains-249513/ The grains in your photo on the left don't even look milled.

    Regulator leak.

I'd say my leak rate was about the same as yours. I had a heck of a time finding the leak. I finally took the regulator apart and checked for a leak internally. If you turn off your gas, you can take the 4 screws out of the regulator and disassemble the regulator. Once disassembled, you can...
