Wyeast 1217-PC West Coast IPA source?

I pitched a 2L starter of this about 16 hours ago into an IPA. It's fermenting like crazy and it's a good thing I had the blow off on. I'm afraid of the temp though, it's at about 72 right now. The only other place in my house is the basement which will be around 56* which I think is too low...

New Zealand Wiamea Hops - Where to buy?

I held out for the Waimea to come in the mail. Just pitched the Wyeast 1217 West Coast IPA. Ill update in a few weeks if anyone cares to see how it goes.

New Zealand Wiamea Hops - Where to buy?

I was going to use pacific Jade for bittering instead of the Waimea because I couldn't find them until Beezer posted that link. Now I have all my ingredients and was planning on brewing tomorrow....should I wait and order some of the waimea or do you think I will have similar results with the...

IPA with New Zealand Hops - Critque

It's based off one of the clones that was in this issue of BYO. The only changes is the addition of 2 row, Waimea hops to Pacific Jade, and instead of 1056 I picked up a pack of Wyeast Private Collection West Coast IPA. I don't know why it would be bad since I only changed it a little, but...

New Zealand Wiamea Hops - Where to buy?

Not sure if you were referring to the Wai-iti and the Pacific Jade but moorbeer has both of them. http://morebeer.com/products/zealand-pacific-jade-hop-pellets.html If I find the wiamea i'll post a link. Are you planning on the exact recipe from BYO?

New Zealand Wiamea Hops - Where to buy?

I found a guy another forum with 44 POUNDS of them for sale but I think they sold. I have what I think is a pretty solid recipe together for an alternate. If I cant find them I'm gonna go with 2oz of Pacific Jade.

New Zealand Wiamea Hops - Where to buy?

I read an article in BYO this issue and want to try the Bacchus Wai-Iti IPA clone but can't find the Wiamea hops anywhere in the States. Shipping from NZ is pretty pricey. If I cant find any I have two options. I was thinking about just using all Wai-Iti but would need 12 oz to achieve the...

Coopers light LME vs. Briess Golden Light LME

I've done some searching and only been able to find some info on the comparability of briess to muttons. The IPA recipe calls for Coopers but Briess is considerably cheaper. Any thoughts?

Yee Yee Wee Heavy (Jasper's Wee Olde Lizzie Scotch Ale))

This was my second brew with my first being the Bourbon barrel Porter. So I have these two waiting for the holidays. I just got anxious and had to try my own brew for the first time. I know I'll keep the Porter saved and try to just have one of the wee heavys here and there but save most till...

Yee Yee Wee Heavy (Jasper's Wee Olde Lizzie Scotch Ale))

Threw one of these in the fridge yesterday and just cracked it. Not really sure what to think. It poured a lot darker than I thought it was going to be, a nice dark amber color(can't really tell in the picture). I also had no head at all from a vigorous pour. Definitely think I undercarbed it...

    esky (ice water) proof labels

Thanks for posting this! For the curing time after the label is applied what temperature should the bottles be at? Will the solution cure at room temp or should they always be in the fridge?

What's your favorite online store for beer kits?

+1 for Jasper's! Their kits are awesome and all packed fresh when you order. If you call them up they are more than happy to help with anything. Definitely recommend them!

    NB Honey Kolsh

I brewed a modified recipe of NB's kit and used 1010 at 58* in my Michigan basement. With a starter and some oxygen it fermented out in a few days.

Looking for Founders Dirty Bastard Clone

Mike - I ended up going with the kit from Jaspers. BREW day went well and I had a really good fermentation. I bottled last week and will try it out in a few weeks. I added a little peat smoked and some 2 row but the rest was the kit. I couldn't find any info on here about it so I started a new...
