    Christmas Ale fermentation stuck twice!

Hi! I brewed a 3.25 gal. batch of Xmas Ale. My O.G. was 1.089 & after 3 weeks my F.G. was stuck @ 1.049. I tried stirring things up & had no change in a week so I made up another starter & pitched. My gravity went down to 1.039 & stayed once again for the past week & a half. Do you think this...

What do you do while your beer is brewing?

My Brew day is Fridays (when I'm off of work). My wife loves it 'cause I'll do laundry at the same time! Everything times out perfectly!

    What is this gonna make?

Well... My my local brew shop made up a grain bill for me & accidentally mistaken 1.2 ounces of Belgian Aromatic for 1.6 pounds! I'm brewing a small batch (1 gallon) & this is what I'm using: 1 LB Belgian Pilsner Malt 8 ounces Belgian Wheat 6.5 ounces Flaked Wheat 1.5 LB Belgian Aromatic...

All grain OG too low (here we go again)!

Well, I feel a whole lot better. What I'm doing is a small batch (1 gallon) as if it were a larger one. I made a small 21/2 gallon mash tun & I did a fly sparge with it. I don't know if with such a small amount makes it more difficult, but it's a lot of fun trying to go by the book! :mug:

All grain OG too low (here we go again)!

I just got done brewing a wheat beer & I missed the original gravity target by 7 points! The target OG is 1.045 & my result was 1.038. I still don't seem to understand how this will effect the final product. I know it means I didn't extract enough sugar from the grains, but what is gonna be...

    High Gravity on 2-Hearted Clone

Thanks! Northern Brewer has one on their website. I'll have to give it a try, although I think I'll pick up a hydrometer anyway. Somehow, engineering calculations don't always work in the real world.

    High Gravity on 2-Hearted Clone

Well, That's a relief. I went ahead & racked into bottles. Because I'm only brewing small batches, is there any conversion software to allow me to test with a refractometer? Using a hydrometer would be wasting a lot of the small amount I have.

    High Gravity on 2-Hearted Clone

Hi, I'm new at the all grain brewing & have a question. I have a 2-hearted clone small batch (one gallon) that's been in the fermenter for 3 weeks @ 68ºF & I took a refractometer reading that shows the gravity at 1.030. I don't know what the OG was because at the time, I had no way to read it...
