    thanks for the info. It just kind of sucks to have barely half of the hops leafs actually touching the wort. I guess that's what they call a learning experience ! it's in my brewers notes !

    should I even attempt getting them out of the carboy to add some weight or am I setting myself up for disaster with infection? and just the idea of fishing it out through the small opening isn't really something I'm looking forward to. thanks Ern

    I used nylon bags and put my leaf hops into them. Should they stay floating on top or they will be going down? RIght now they are floating after 12h.

    Wort Cooling Method...??

    I only have 2 batches under my belt but I buy a 1 gallon plastic jug of water for 1$. Freeze it and when it's time to brew I cut the jug open, let the ice into the fermenter and poor the wort on it. Worked good so far.

    Fermenting has begun and it's pretty violent compared to my first batch I did. I'm not sure if it's the liquid yeast I used this time vs last time it was dry but the air lock is going off !

    Yes they rent it for 2.95$ since I didn't know if I was going to like making beer I only bought what I really needed and in the future will be adding equipment.
