    Well im two weeks away from bottling and all the horror stories ive read are making me nervous? What makes a bomb? How do prevent it? I have regular cap bottles and a apper to start.

    Found an old Press, not sure if I should use it as is...

    Theres supposedly a food grade paint you can use.... Maybe look into painting it to seal it? Not sure where to find... i ran across reading something about it in a random thread, try googling it

    I went to the flea market today and bought 20lbs of apples for $5!!!!!! And about 7 lbs or pears for $4 now I'm wondering what to do recipe wise! Any suggestions guys? I couldn't pass up the deal!!!

    So i added some Very nice ripe apples to one of my smaller batches of cider, i cubed them and through them in the carboy and now its bubbling like crazy. What are your thoughts on adding or leaving fruit in the cider itself while in the primary stage? I couldn't find much info at on all this...

    How much fluid so be in the jar? Just a enough to cover the tube an inch or so? We only have some expensive vodka here lol hate to waste it!

    I need to order them offline, my home-brew place only offers the s locks but good to know! I have my two jars wrapped in blankets for temp control... But should i keep em on for secondary stage? Just curious....

    Thanks guys i took an old s lock and cut the edge off to fit the tubing on, its safely bubbling away into the water in a separate jar. I just didnt want to wake up to cider all over my parents new basement!

    I read up a bit on a blow off tube? Can standard tubing bought a the homebrew store just fit the top of the s shaped airlock? And if i read this correctly it just gets placed into a jar with water and is covered? PLEASE HELP I DON WANT IT TO EXPLODE TONIGHT LOL

    I know thisis old, but im exp the same issue. Can the blow off tube be placed in a jar with water? I have the s shaped air lock on a 1/2 gal glass bottle
