Minnesota 3 tap (2 regular, 1 stout) keezer for sale in the Twin Cities

---Sold--- I have my 3 tap keezer for sale in the Twin Cities. I have had a great time building and using it, but I need a little more room to do some lagers. I can either sell it with all the hardware (taps, shanks, hoses, disconnects) or without them. If you want to put your own faucets in...

    Interesting stratification in yeast starter

It doesn't make sense that your bottom layer of trub looks like my top layer. If they were the same that layer would be below the yeast layer. Right?

    Interesting stratification in yeast starter

I just thought I would post this as an interesting picture. This was started about 30 hours ago and is a mixture of both US-05 Dry Yeast and Wyeast 1084 Irish Ale Yeast. The reason I combined the two is because I had roughly washed them about a week ago and forgot which jars contained which...

    Russian Roulette with yeast

So I recently brewed an Oatmeal Stout using US-05, and a Guinness clone using WYeast 1084 Irish Ale Yeast. I collected and washed yeast for each one of these but then put them in the fridge without labeling them. So now I have 2 nice canned yeast strains, but no idea which one is which...

My camera is a Canon T3i. I used a Canon XT (released in 2006) until last fall, and finally upgraded only because the XT was draining batteries for unknown reasons. The lens for the more zoomed looking pictures is a Canon 50mm 1.8, the less zoomed pictures is the stock 18-55 kit lens. I use...

Well I finally finished my Keezer :ban: and it was quite the fun project. In my mind this was a prototyping R&D endeavor. Everything I used was as bare bones and as dirt cheap as I could find, I even built and stained my own tap handles to match it. I spent well over a month gathering the parts...

Confused about carbonating stouts and nitro setups

I am a few days away from getting the rest of the parts I need to finish up my nitro tap and I have a few questions. I have a freshly brewed guinness clone that is also a few days away from going into a keg. From what I can gather, I should carbonate it on pure CO2 up to about 1.5-2.0 volumes...

Update from the above photo. Same fridge, 36 hours later. It was my first time staining anything. Right now its just sitting like that because I wanted to see how it looked. I still have 2-3 coats of polyurethane to go on the wood. I don't think it looks too bad for about $75 total investment...

I just did a test fitting to make sure everything was right. Haier 5.0cf, fits 3 kegs plus both CO2 and Nitrogen Tank. I can't wait to try a home brewed nitro Guinness. Just a few more days before I order all the other parts I need, then about 3 weeks until both an Oatmeal Stout and a Guinness...

    Water treatment?

Hi everyone. I am using well water for brewing and am wondering if there is something I should be doing to improve my beer. I don't have a lot of information to go off of because all I have are simple test strips. What I can tell you from them is that my "Total Hardness (CaCO3) grains per...

Idiot new to Kegging - Question

Like multiple juicy june beetles landing in the pot while boiling. Funny thing is that even though I'm sure a few of them were in there for a few minutes before I noticed (Stout, brewing at night, drinking beer) it still tasted fine. Must have been because it was mostly at the beginning so I...

Idiot new to Kegging - Question

I think it should be perfectly fine. I would just try to get some over the overcarbonation out. Shake-vent-shake-vent-shake-vent-etc. Once you have things below your target carbonation level, put it back on the CO2 at the correct pressure and wait a few days. BTW - 5-6 months is a LONG time...

No O-ring on my Nitrogen Regulator

I just picked up a nitrogen regulator and noticed that it does not have any kind of gasket or O-ring for the Tank-Regulator connection. Looking around online I see many regulators that do have a gasket near the tip of the connection, and many others that have no o-ring or gasket whatsoever...

Sizing your Chest Freezer for Corny Kegs

This looks like a fantastic thread for keezers. I am starting to look for something and was hoping to get some advice. My plan is to find a chest freezer that can fit one 1/2 barrel keg of "crappy" beer for my wife, and still have room for 2-4 corneys. Does anyone have specific...

Wyeast 2206 Bavarian Lager - Slow Starter?

Just thought I would throw this in the thread for anyone who might be interested. Beer is a Double decocted Oktoberfest OG = 1.064 Made a 2L yeast starter with 1.045 runnings from my mash tun. Let it go 24 hours at 65F before dumping it into my Wort.
