What I did for beer today

Started a soft crash and dry hopped my NEIPA today. The magnet idea is pretty genius.

    So who's brewing this weekend?

Working from home, I’m really enjoying these week day brew days. I can prep everything the night before, then heat up my water as I’m wrapping up my work day. Brewed a Citra NEIPA The two hop sacks suspended by magnets look like nut sacks. Came within .003 points to my target OG. The only...

    Did I under pitch?

Good to hear. I was planning on letting it free rise to 68 in a couple days for a D rest.

    Did I under pitch?

I’ve been brewing ales for a while, but finally brewed my first lager last weekend. I think I may have under pitched. I pitched 1 packet of Lallemand Diamond Lager to 3 gallons of 1.050 wort. Idk if it matters, but I did use yeast nutrient. Should I pitch another pack?

    So who's brewing this weekend?

Bought a couple new King Junior fermenters and finally got to try one out today. Made a German Pils. Hit my OG right on the money. Can’t wait to enjoy this crispy boy in about 6 weeks 😎

What I did for beer today

Started the cold crash on my Belgian Single. Starting to worry that it may not be quite bitter enough. Brewfather says it will be on the low end at .53 BU/GU.

What I did for beer today

Gravity reading on my Belgian single. Was shooting for an ABV of about 5.5, ended up being 6.5%. Oh well 🤠

    Wyeast 3787

Howdy. I’m going on 16 hours since pitching with no signs of fermentation.I shook up my fermenting keg about an hour ago. The packet wasn’t swollen, but I smacked the nutrient pack 2-3 hours before use. I also used yeats nutrient at the end of the boil. Is this normal? Should I pitch more yeast?

    What's in your fermenter(s)?

Patersbier brewed for the priests at my parish. Just pitched Wyeast 3787 and put the kegmenter in the fermentation chamber 😎

    Anvil Foundry Leak

Update: Teflon tape rules. I *think* this will work as well as a new gasket until I get one. So far, so good.

    Anvil Foundry Leak

I think I have found the issue… Not sure how that happened.

    Anvil Foundry Leak

I’m sorry if this is posted in the wrong place, but here goes. I’ve had my Foundry for a couple years now. For some reason, water is leaking out of the bottom, right where the metal meets the rubber bottom. After a bit of reading, I discovered that many people were able to fix this by...

    Homebrewer/….dad?!

I found out this morning that I’m going to be a dad. Looks like my brewing production is going to decrease 😂 How do you dads do it? What am I going to need to know? Should I still snatch the Clawhammer system while it’s 8% off? Should I just go ahead and sell everything?
