    Simple APA Water?

Thanks again Yoop. Im off to work now, but I will be making another attempt at one of the other spreadsheets you mentioned. In the meantime I also emailed Desler over at SN since their pale ale is one of my favs. I don't know if he will respond, but it never hurts to ask. Im thinking they might...

    Simple APA Water?

Makes sense. So how do we decide how much chlorides and sufate we need for each particular style? Is it based on the color? hop profile? maltiness? etc. I understand the ph changes and how to adjust the water, but I think I get lost in deciding what the proper ph should be (5.3 vs 5.6) and how...

I'm thinking of doing a new German lager tomorrow with some wyeast 2206. The grain bill will be 90% pils and 10% cara the hop schedule will be around 18-20 IBUS of hallertau pellets. Full ro water with no additions. Will this yeast be close to style. I know it might end up drier than normal but...

    Sparge/Mash Confusion

IM relatively new yo water Chem but feel like I'm getting a good start. I am currently using gypsum and calcium chloride as well as Epsom(rarely) to make up my mineral additions. Hallertau Hops

Can you lager? I love Hallertau and just it and the 2row or pilsen with a good german lager yeast is amazing and will go fast. You can add some munich up to 50% to get some different styles too. With such a well balanced dual purpose hop you can make muich, mibock, helles, pils whatever you like!

Turning my house pa into an ipa

I really like the amber version but I didn't know how it would trasnfer. Would like 12oz and 8 oz of each respectively be better. Is the lighter color ok in this style. I just want it to be similar tasting and but i understand how the malty could be overwhelming.

Turning my house pa into an ipa

Recipe is as follows: 6# 2-Row 1# Munich 1.5# C20 1# C60 8oz Carapils 1oz Chocolate 1oz Willamete @60* .5oz Cascade @15 .5oz Cascade @15 1oz Dry Hop Cascade @7days I'm changing this soon as I feel it is a waste to use willametes instead of something similar with a higher AA% such as Columbus.
