Long draw glycol cooled dispensing build

I did the same with my pump. I’ve used a flexible vinyl tube to connect it to the trunk line (PEX). The smaller pump is great but it can’t lift very high. I have a lift of 6” but my trunk line was filled when I connected this pump. I think it would not be strong enough to fill the empty line...

Long draw glycol cooled dispensing build

I cannot edit my post anymore so I will post an update here... I finally changed the pump to one with lower wattage. The 60 watt pump was producing too much heat and vibrated a lot. Now I use a 15 watt pump and the glycol solution is at chilly 35F. Quiet One Pro Series Aquarium Pump - 800...

    Recipe review 2nd try

To be honest, I do not look at any style in this case. I want to try something I did not try so far (with what I have on hand at the moment). As of for the bittering, I’ve looked at the ratio and it’s at 0.78 if I remember well. I don’t think that the hops will completely overpower the malt in...

If there were a local brew shop. :( I have to order to taste the grains. I buy base grains in a store 2 hours from here but I order small amounts online.

    Recipe review please

Thanks a lot for the suggestion Yooper. Well, what do I want? Good question! I did a lot of IPAs so far and I made your House Pale Ale (which was very good) and a few stouts and porters. I wanted to try something new, grains I did not use so far, maybe hops I did not use so far and the WLP007...

    Recipe review please

Thanks for the advice. I guess I will cut the Special B and combine with another grain. I did not know about the strong flavor. I will work on that and get back....

Yeah, I'm not sure about the hops yet. I will look into other options.

    Recipe review please

Yes, I've got my idea from an Arrogant Bastard recipe, but I dont go to clone it. I've never used special B before.

    Recipe review please

Hi all! I would like to get your opinion on my simple recipe below. My goal is a balanced ale. It should be bitter but not overwhelming the malt flavor. Batch Size (fermenter): 5.50 gal Bottling Volume: 5.00 gal Estimated OG: 1.067 SG Estimated Color: 21.1 SRM Estimated IBU: 60.4...

DIPA Feedback for me, if you're bored

I never tried Oats in my IPA's. Seems to be interesting! I would cut on the dry hopping and ramp up the late additions. Some like that is normally my backbone: Best luck!

Big nylon mash bag to replace hop spider?

Thanks! Oh, I did not think that nylon will melt. I boil my chiller for the last 15 mins and it will put the bag to the ground. :( So here goes the great idea....

Big nylon mash bag to replace hop spider?

I’ve used a 15’’x 18’’ nylon bag hop spider till now. I was looking around on how to improve the contact area without dropping hops directly into the wort. There is a lot of fanzy and expensive stuff out there, but what’s about a big bag? I can get a very large bag for a few $$ which is as...

First time porter – anything you would change?

I use 2 packs because they are close to expire and I don't want to take a chance.
