Cool! Still a few miles to go...the shop is in Montreal. :)

Best way to get rid of the yeast in finished beer?

Hi all! My belly is some kind of sensible to yeast (seems to be not all strains). I’m sure that yeast is the cause. I just need to drink the first pint of a new keg or take a shot of a starter and I’ll have it confirmed a few hours later (I don’t do these things normally!). :)  The...

HB shop fail - How long would you use milled grains?

Yeah, I would share, but there is no brew club in my area. There are not even brewers I know of. I’m training interested people to get new brewers on board. 15 people trained so far but nobody started AG yet. I will do another training session this weekend, 6 new people. We’ll see if someone...

HB shop fail - How long would you use milled grains?

Actually they are a grain distributor for HB stores and breweries. I don’t think 4 bags will hurt them!

HB shop fail - How long would you use milled grains?

Well, I transferred the milled grain into plastic bags squeezing out as much air as possible. Wow, the Weyermann Munich II smells great! I will brew something with Munich II as base grain soon.

HB shop fail - How long would you use milled grains?

The bags are resewed. There is good news! They will send me 4 new bags and they will also pay the freight. I can also keep the milled bags. I guess I will brew a lot... :rockin: 55lb MO, 55lb Pilsen (BE), 55lb Munich II (DE), 55 lb 2 row Happy again!

HB shop fail - How long would you use milled grains?

Hi, Oh, I'm so angry! I just came back from a brew shop about 5 hours from here. I ordered 4x 55lb bags to cover this year of brewing. I get home, check the bags and find out that they milled all 4 bags! Oh, hell, I've ordered un-milled and thats also on the order confirmation! I could...

    Warm vs Cold conditioning (KEG)

Hi all! I know there were discussions about that in the past but I still would like to have some input from you guys. I switched to kegging a few months ago and that’s my process: - 2 weeks in primary - Transfer to keg - Stored and carbonated in the fridge (40F) for at least 3 weeks...

I agree, the bevseal is great. No plastic flavor and flush able.

Long draw glycol cooled dispensing build

I just use a keg to clean the lines. I push cleaner thru the lines (with CO2), then flush with water and after that Starsan.

Long draw glycol cooled dispensing build

No. My fridge has one controler/sensor, not 2. So I can dial in something for the fridge and something for the freezer compartment. I did not modify the temp control for my fridge.

Long draw glycol cooled dispensing build

I did not measure air temp in the freezer but, the condensation on the glycol bucket lid does freeze. I've set the temp so that the beer stays at 39F as I cant regulate the freezer separately, this results the glycol solution to be at 35F. My run is like yours, 9' in one direction. I dont need...

Long draw glycol cooled dispensing build

I only use my system on weekends and it works great. Use the best lines you can get. In my opinion that’s Bev-Seal. I can serve a stout, connect an IPA right away without affecting the flavour. I have no issue with carbonation. I use flow control faucets, so I can do high carb and low carb on...
