    Any higher quality hydrometers?

Hey tim. I'd buy one. Seems like it would work, probably as accurate as a triplescale. Broke my hydrometer tonight right before taking OG. Would have enjoyed a backup. I want a refractometer, bad though. Beeralchemy has a decent calculator for post-ferment readings.

    Trying to drop ferment temp...

I have always been curious if that means the temp in the carboy or ambient. I assume it must be the temp of the fermentation. I have used this yeast more than any other which is why I decided to pitch on the freshly used cake. Blowoff tube started up within a couple hours and is going super...

    Trying to drop ferment temp...

I just brewed up a 1.074 foreign extra stout. I pitched it on a yeast cake of wyeast 1084. I immediately put a blow off tube on since I put more liquid in it then I originally thought and I knew it was going to be a big guy. My problem is that on the temp strip its running up in the high 70s...

    Bung Stuck in Carboy

I brewed up a milk stout last week. I pushed it pretty far in but not into the beer. I went to take a hydro sample today and I can't get the bung out. I even broke my airlock trying to use it as leverage to get it out. Thankfully I have a spare airlock. I tried to use a pair of sanitized...

Q: How to mix wheat DME into wort?

I only use DME. My stirring tool is a slotted spatula. It does quick work of the clumps by breaking up the clumps in the slots. It works as a decent aerator as well. Everytime I have used a whisk with DME it ends up clumping at the bottom of the whisk.

    Pineapple beer recipe?

My SWMBO has been trying to test me on new brews I can attempt. She said a light summery pineapple beer. This will prob fill the bill. I would defiantly reduce the cascade. I'm feeling some Kent Golding at flame out but that's cause I love that for a flavor hop. I'm kinda worried about the...
