Electric Kettle Rims Basement Brewery Setup

Hey all, Wanted to share my brand new electric brew setup in my basement. This forum has been tremendously valuable in researching how to piece all this together properly so I wanted to pass along my own creation. Kettle rims (horizontal breweasy) with steam slayer and brew commander. It's no...

Massachusetts 2 16 Gallon Kettles and Cooler Mash Tun - Extra Ports - Whirlpool Etc.

Looking to downsize. I impulse purchased 2 16-gallon GasOne kettles and have used these 3 times. They work great but looking to move into electric eventually and downsize as I only do 5-gallon batches. They're too big for what I'm looking to do. I'm in Norwood, MA area. Each kettle comes with a...

    Gas One Vs Bayou Classic

Looking at the Gas One 10 gallon kettle versus the Bayou Classic 16 gallon. Both priced around $118 so debating to go bigger or not for the same price. Does anyone have experience with the quality of either? Not sure I have any interest in doing larger than 5-gallon all-grain batches however you...

Single Tier Wood Brew Rig Design/Feedback.

I have been searching through these forums for wooden brew stand ideas that will not go up in flames. I am not totally convinced that placing a burner near the wood would not start to scorch the wood. What do you guys think of my mockup? ultimately a wooden stand topped with sheet metal with...

I guess my question is...Will the pictured below work? or is it not necessary? Basically looking for the most simple way to transfer liquid. All gravity draining. 1. Heat strike water, pump into MLT (set 60 min) 2. Heat sparge water, pump into HLT 3. Drain MLT into BK 4. Sparge HLT into...

Transferring hot water to MLT or HLT without pumps?

I just brewed my first all grain batch using a 10-gallon Rubbermaid mash tun. I batch sparged and used gravity to drain into a 10 gallon boil kettle. I am trying to stay relatively budget friendly here. I quickly noticed heating up 5 gallons of water with a propane gas burner in my 8 gallon...

Cold Crashing Then Keg Conditioning Warm?

It's a double IPA...SO as you probably know, they typically need 4-5 weeks in the bottle to condition before they start to taste great / ready to drink. Maybe I am investing too much stock in warm aging vs aging in the kegorator but I did not want to take those 5 weeks I typically did in the...

Cold Crashing Then Keg Conditioning Warm?

Thanks for advice. Sorry let me clarify if it helps. I suppose what I am trying to achieve here is aging my beer further in the keg before cooling it down to improve it. I have read it ages slower at colder temperatures so I was trying to replicate the "bottle conditioning with priming sugar"...

Hi Everyone, Bare with me this is my first post and fourth batch of beer. I recently purchased kegging equipment and have been reading a lot about cold crashing and keg conditioning and cannot quite find the answer I am looking for. I apologize if this has already been answered. I'm...
