Adding Secondary Regulator - Gas hose?

Hello! question about adding a secondary regulator. Did a bit of a search but couldn't find what I was looking for: I'm going from my primary regulator to a 2 way manifold. 1 way will be out to a keg, second will be to a secondary regulator, then to a second keg. My question is, does the...

    Keg co2 question

I'm looking for 2 volumes of co2, and according to the table in this thread 6psi would do it. It's out of the 'range for most styles' highlighted area though... I don't mind waiting, although it is already pretty tasty =) It was in secondary for a loooong time which i think helped the flavor.

    Keg co2 question

Hey, first time carbing in a keg, carbing a stout w/set and forget method. 2 volumes co2 desired, keezer goes from 35 degrees - 40 degrees (before kicking on and dropping back to 35) It's been a week at about 6 psi, (calculated for 37 degrees, middle of the temp road) tried the beer and no...

secondary racking question / brew belt okay?

Temperature has always been a pain for me too. Slightly higher temperatures may ferment with "fruity" off flavors. If you use a brewbelt I would suggest checking temp a few times throughout the day, as it may raise higher than you want. If you take some notes you will be able to set a cheap...

    IPA kegging question

Happy new year all! Two part question here: First, making and then kegging an IPA, i want to dry hop in secondary and then keg instead of dry hopping in keg. Thoughts? Second, I'm thinking of using gelatin to clear this beer in keg, but I'm not sure if it's worth it. Will i see...

    single bottle bomb

Yeah, the box full is outside right now. I put one in the fridge and opened it once it was cool. Didn't appear over carbonated so Im guessing it was a single bottle issue. At least its tasty!

    single bottle bomb

Hello, So, I brewed my first all grain, a heff, it came out awesome. I checked its gravity and it was stable for 2 days, so I bottled. I carbonated it according to style, which is on the higher side. After a few weeks, some went in my fridge, some in the closet, and I brought a 6 pack to a...

    First AG and low OG

Hello, I brewed my first all grain and got a low OG, 1.038 out of 1.058. Im curious what may have caused this? Should i have boiled it longer checking the gravity during the boil? If this is the case how to I calculate changes in when I add the hops? Also, I calculated my efficency at...

First batch is humming right along!

I wouldn't worry too much about anything since fermentation is going along so fine! The long pour has always worked well for me. Do you have a homebrew shop down there in the OC?

    Liquid Yeast

isnt this the story of homebrew? I'm starting to think (after this thread) that there has been some problem with the whitelabs that I've used as opposed to what I thought.

    Liquid Yeast

A good point. I guess I should be more clear in that with Wyeast under 1.060 i feel comfortable. I would still use whitelabs if i needed to but would always make a starter (just because if i didnt i think i'd sit up at night) Bah. Have a homebrew =)
  15. J

    Liquid Yeast

just an opinion. I've used both and had better success and less lag time with wyeast. just another one of those things that everyone has a different idea about =)

    Liquid Yeast

use wyeast. you really dont need a starter with wyeast (if used correctly) and it's far superior to whitelabs IMHO. EDIT you really dont need a starter if your OG is < 1.06

Cheap & Easy 10 Gallon Rubbermaid MLT Conversion

We just made one, and it generally was easy and great. Just wanted to note some changes we made: We used another barb at the internal end of the tube inside of the stainless supply hose so that we could screw the brass nut directly into it. We couldn't find a stainless steel washer, so we...

A good friend and I moved across country to los angeles from boston. Amongst everything else you can imagine that we miss, UFO is high on the list. What would be more fun than brewing some up ourselves?
