I added about 20 dehydrated orange slices to my whirlpool once. I kept them in a hop spider and stirred the spider for a few mins. It really came through. The peels were also attached to the slices.
If you cleaned it thoroughly and put it away somewhere else clean, i think you're ggod... as long as you spray it with some Star San (or something similar) before using it.
I order from Delta Brewing. Free shipping over 60. Blows my mind. I ordered four 55lb sacks and some other stuff. 250lbs - FREE shipping. How?? lol 3rd time i've done that. The malt is pretty standard price
Has anyone used mangrove jacks bavarian lagar yeast? I just pitched that yesterday. It was the only yeast I could get on amazon shipped in time for my brew day lol. We'll see how it turns out.
Also ^ surprised S-189 took so long to get brought up.
Most my Kveik IPAs are done in 24-36 hours. Around 85F. Looks normal to me.
The only other yeast I use that is just is fast is London Ale. Blows my mind every time at 65F
I have 6 lines (6 kegs). I have no idea about the CO2 because I can never figure out 100% if there was a leak somewhere. It can be frustrating. If things are going smooth, I can keep 1 tank for a month +
I have used my Firmzilla around 60 batches (all 10 gal). Never had a problem w the jar. I never use keg lube. I wash the O ring off. Only issue is sometimes it's really hard to take it apart (using that band tool).
^ Yeah my normal gas service uses "beverage grade" CO2........... The other 2 they have is for welding and healthcare. Not sure what exactly the differences are. but they have 3 catagories.
The Latin market, who know wtf they are doing...
I normally swap tanks at a legit gas service..... but, recently my friend had 2 tanks "filled" from what he said was a craft beer shop. Turns out it was some "Latin" market. I used this "gas" to carb up 3 different IPA batchs (3 5 gal kegs) and all 3 turned out crap. No aroma 8 days after dry...
I just wanted to get some advice before I do this. I'm sure it's fine
Would 2 packs handle an 11 gal 1.070 IPA pretty well? Rehydrated
I know under pitching is kind of a good thing for IPA citrus flavor.
Thanks
I'm trying to make room for this one. I have 2 kegs in front of it. Friends aren't putting in their dues. Hoping to fill some growlers this week and maker room to keg it.
Probably the recipes that call for any roasted malts. They are known to give off astringent flavors (i don't really taste them). It's something to do with how they make the malts. There is some new tech lately that BESTMALZ is doing that eliminates that. Hopefully in a few years
I ended up brewing an IPA 1.071
Just 2row and a little C40/Carapils
Columbus at 75
1 oz of McKenzie at 5min
1oz of Citra at 5min
Then 2oz (each) McKenzie and Citra whirlpool 170f
Planning on dry hopping with those 2 as well. Maybe only McKenzie. Looking back i should have just done all...
I ordered from Austin HB. I think they are owned by NB now? All the grain bags had the NB label on it.... anyways they delayed the shipment 10 days. Email response sounded broken english. They also don't have ice packs for shipping yeast.
I searched for threads on McKenzie hops and got nothing. Even reddit.....
Has anyone ever brewed with these hops? I got 8oz because they sound really interesting.....
Thinking IPA and maybe a smash since i can't find much about other experiences...
Got a pack from Omega that is 6 weeks old (manufacturer date aug 30) been in the fridge. I know under pitching is kinda preferred. Just wondering if i should worry about making a starter for a 1.065 beer (5 gal)?
My flask is being used so i can't really make a starter anyway. Thinking just...
