    Temperature for keg storing...

What is a good general temperature to keep my keg fridge at for storing my keg? I see references to actual temperature of the beer itself but that there is also difference between actual beer temperature and the general internal temperature of the fridge. I'm assuming you would keep the...

    Pop and reseal overcarbed beer?

Just an update... Using the guy's method in the video LLBeanJ posted...the beer has been salvageable. However, I tend to crack mine open just enough to hear a constant fizz and then there is some slight foam that comes out of the cap. Let them sit for a couple hours while the excess bleeds...

    Pop and reseal overcarbed beer?

Hello all! Been a bit since I have posted but I have been having great success with homebrewing until this recent batch and just had a question. Brewed up a belgian IPA while I was in the process of moving. Boosted the gravity a bit with some extra malt. Stuff is way overcarbed and I'm...

    Brewer's Best Red Ale Mod

Just an update on this. Just finished brew day. Opted out of the special roast I was planning. Still added 2 lbs. DME and an oz. of Hallertau. Flavor is very interesting and I think it's going to turn out nice. Also nailed target starting gravity (according to beersmith's calculations)...

Straight from the bottle. Is it really that bad?

Oh wow...completely forgot I posted this. :) Needless to say I was REALLY enjoying my brew on this particular evening. To set the record straight, I DO have some nice beer glasses that I have been drinking MOST of the beer from. Get lazy every now and then though.

Straight from the bottle. Is it really that bad?

As I sit here drinking one now...the answer? Nope! Pretty amazing actually.

    One week in bottles...

There's a light behind it which is probably exaggerating the color a bit. I did try and it's actually pretty damn tasty. Can't wait to try one next week. Might throw a few in the fridge for the weekend actually. I know most think it's early, but I can't help it.

    One week in bottles...

    Maybe this will work?

    One week in bottles...

Welp, I've obviously shown my patience level already. That being said, threw a bottle of my first batch in the fridge last night. It's Brewer's Best Double IPA. I read that storing the bottles in slightly warmer temps can accelerate carbonation. I have a pantry inbetween my water heater...

    New brewer from Cleveland OH

Actually lucky enough to have been born and raised a Steelers fan and I don't really follow other sports. :D Thanks for the welcome guys and hello to fellow Ohioans!

    To soon?

As far as off flavors, I didn't detect anything that seemed to out of the ordinary. It's a double IPA. Had a couple other commercial IPAs before I cracked one open, and I could sense that with some time, it should fall pretty well in line. Yeah, this is my first batch, so there's no pipeline...

    To soon?

Is it bad to drink a beer only a day after bottling? Just wondering, because I am. It's wonderful. I really enjoyed it out of the sample beeker as well. :rockin:

    Brewer's Best Red Ale Mod

Well, I was trying to be a cheapskate with the lb. of corn sugar instead of dme. According to my mock up I would need 2 lbs. of DME versus the 1 lb. of corn sugar for the same gain. I think I'll just go with DME though. Alcohol isn't even all that important, but at the same time it would be...

    Brewer's Best Red Ale Mod

Hi all! Currently wrapping up my first brew and am planning the next. I've been looking at the recipe for Brewer's Best Red Ale: http://www.brewersbestkits.com/pdf/1010%202013%20Red%20Ale%20Recipe.pdf I know a lot of new brewer's are eager to get creative, myself included, but we...

    New brewer from Cleveland OH

Hello all!!! New brewer here from C-land OH. Currently have my first batch of Brewer's Best double IPA fermenting. Had it open for a grav reading (almost there) and took a quick taste test and am feeling like it might work out ok. Looking pretty clean. Looking forward to getting to...
