    Priming sugar mixing it up?

OK, getting ready to bottle my first tomorrow (and probably brew the following day again :D ) So its boil/simmer up the sugar, put in bottom of bottling bucket, siphon carboy to bottling bucket. But do I stir it up? How long? Aren't i going to chance aerating the brew? I'm figuring a...

    CO2 tank position

But thats built into the bottle no? Can't see how it could be otherwise.

    newbie kegging rant

Also use genuine Swagelock fittings. Not the Watts you get from Lowes and Deep Homo. Swagelock also has a spec on tightening compression fittings; finger tight and 3/4 a turn for first seating. Finger tight, and 1/8 turn for others. Can also mark with a sharpie where to stop for disconnects...

is there such thing as industrial CO2

Yup. Deal with ultra high purity CO2 for work (CO2 lasers, and require bottle certs for a new installations) All bottles are filled with the same gas. Its the cleanliness of the inside of the bottle that dictates the purity grade. Bottles get tested every 8-10 years (D.O.T. mandate) And...

    Beer Kettle and burners.

I've wondered about this. But for a standard gas stove we are OK? And 4 or 5 of the stoves burner going is OK? The stove won't generate CO? (stove come in both propane and NG)

    Partial boil SG second opinion

Thanks guys. Thats what I figured. Logic (mine) being the FG is done on the full amount.

    Partial boil SG second opinion

OK, I think I got it right, but just wanna make sure. When doing a partial boil, you are supposed to take the OG of the full diluted 5 gal yes? (not just the couple of gallons of wort in the kettle) TIA.

    Commercial suggestions (and recipies)

Thanks guys. Will try 'em out (I tried the Sweeteater at ATL both the brew pub and the Sky Club have it) Stout. hmmm kinda scared to try 'em from some reason. But then ordered a Becks once and got Becks dark. Wasn't expecting it, but it was ddaanngg smooth.

    Commercial suggestions (and recipies)

OK, I'm looking to expand my horizons a bit (hence the homebrewing) I never liked IPAs much but think my palate has progressed some. Whats worth trying on the commercial side? Also other commercial versions of styles typical of a newbie home brewer. (I know thats a loaded question and...

    Custom Design Wallmount Bottle Opener?

A stencil and an enchant/sandblaster can work. Then a little paint?

    eco-friendly sanitation

But isn't his views a bit biased? Yuppers. Lawyers, and greedy plaintiffs.

    "Buzz" in element or ssr

I doubt an SSR would buzz. Does the buzz go away after a few seconds? If so, it can just be from the E/C cycle (expansion/contraction) as it heats up.

When given a Therminator, you're required to pimp it out, right?

aw, c'mon. one thermometer? Need them duals to get the delta temps then a PID to regulate a proportional valve to keep it on track. (just joking. I do industrial automation for a living and can get carried away) Nice. I'm jealous.

DIY Mash Tuns: Pros and cons of cube vs. "gatorade" style?

Why the 'S' turn? Wouldn't turning the manifold 180 and going straight be a bit better/easier?

    Thanks!

I gotta say, almost every question I've had, has already been answered. (search is my friend) A lot of good helpful people here (won't name names 'cause I'd leave some out)

Mash Tun? Is PVC a bad choice?

Just curious. Why not copper or SS? Too pricey? If its price I don't see it being pricey. Its a one time investment. You try to buy the best ingredients, no?

Pulling samples vs. hydrometer straight into fermenter

Here in the states, we call them turkey baster thing-a-majigs "artificial inseminaters"

what do people use for labels?

Haven't yet. But was pondering a laser cut stencil slip rolled to the bottle curve and a little sandblasting.

Using a pasta maker to mill grain.

Think I'm gonna give this a whirl. Jump out to the garage and knurl up the rollers on the lathe (footnote: Knurling increases the diameter a bit.) Have a customer laser cut up some scrap metal for the hopper, and probably a little beefing up. (I'm just getting started and doing smaller...
