Dry Hopping in the Keg - Nylon Bags versus 300 micron SS Mesh?

I use the stainless filter for my keg hop, but after 5 days, I pressure transfer out of the keg hop keg, into a purged serving keg. I've had pretty good results doing this.

Cuvee De Trolls clone recipe question

Sparging is just rinsing the grain after mashing (or steeping) to try to get whatever is left on the grain after draining or removing grain bag from water. It is a good idea to do it but it's not what makes the difference between steeping and mashing.

Cuvee De Trolls clone recipe question

Yes, they both mention extract. I guess the biggest difference is the amount and type of grain that is being "steeped". If it's just a small amount of specialty malt (crystal, roasted, chocolate) being used for color/flavor, that would be considered steeping and you wouldn't expect any...

Cuvee De Trolls clone recipe question

The giveaway is whenever a recipe says light "LME" or "DME" (liquid malt extract or dry malt extract). There is a way to convert an extract or partial extract recipe to all grain. I don't remember it off the top of my head, but a quick search should find it. Also, the amount of grain used...

    RO Water Costs

Those are the jugs that you exchange that have already been filled. I believe that the comment was regarding the "fill-yourself" water machine that most Walmarts have in them. It is a machine about the size of a refrigerator that basically has a faucet that dispenses RO water (not distilled)...

Ranco failed, help me save face with friends

Just call it a Saison and run with it??? That could explain away any bad/off flavors if you end up with any. (It's a saison, it's supposed to taste like that....). I think that's what a lot of breweries do anyway.

    Pilsner: 2.054 to 1.025 in 10 days

At this point, I would let it free rise to 65-68 for a few days (3-6) for a d rest and to finish up. Those few days should get you closer to where you'd want to finish 1.010 ish? After that, transfer for lagering. I lager in kegs under co2 to get started carbonating. I do not have experience...

Using an SS Brewtech Brite Tank - Under Carbonation Issues

The following is a response from a different thread. It talks about kegs, but also applies in your situation. """Try using 25-30 ft. of beer line to connect beergun. The really long line will make filling a little slower, but will greatly increase the quality of the bottled beer. Just coil it...

    advice on AG build

Here's mine. While I do have a pump, I use gravity to drain from the mash to the boil. And can transfer from the boil to a fermenter if needed.
