Boiled some syrup for a belgian brew on sunday: 500g sugar in a 22L batch, probably won't provide that much flavour but it'll add a tiny bit of colour and dry it out a bit(I think, I'm not sure how fermentable it is).

Change your recipe to mash higher or lower, miss temperature and end up at original the original mash temperature. Problem solved!

Wait two days then check the gravity again, if it still is 1.014 then you can bottle. Personally I'd wait a week to let the yeast clean up a bit.

Right on both points, clearer beer into the bottle results in less sludge dropping to the bottom in bottle. It has happened that I've been too focused on the sludge when pouring that I didn't notice the glass filling over. :mug:

A brewery here recently did a beer with only a whirlpool addition, 0 theoretical IBU's but a measured IBU of 87. The wort was left hot for 30 minutes before cooling. 8 grams of hops per litre and all above 9% alpha acids.

I wonder how much hops would be needed to get that beer balanced. :drunk:

The temperatures you post, is it ambient or the wort temperature? I suspect it's the former.
