Do I need to be concerned with the hose not being in sanitizer while I'm pouring out some of the container?

Thanks folks. That foam in the picture is from transferring the wort. I checked it this morning and it's already bubbling away! I've got a 3/8" (I think) hose into a bung going to a 1/2 gallon milk jug that is 1/2 filled with Starsan. I'll keep an eye on it!

Ended up with a higher batch than planned. OG still came in higher than target. I pitched a 1L starter of Wyeast 3068. Not much headspace but I do have s blow off tube. Is this going to give me grief? This is after pitching the starter.

That's an idea but not my first choice, yet. The lid doesn't lock down. The feature on the front is for the garbage truck hook to pick up the can. I would prefer, aesthetically, to have them on the front. Thank you for the idea.

Good to know. I was concerned with the starter wort contributing to the flavor. Sounds like a 1L starter is the way to go instead of 1.5 and pitch w/o canting after 24-36 hours. Correct?
