    Effects of delayed innoculation?

I brewed a Koelsch on Saturday on my new keggle and turkey fryer. The brew went swimmingly, or so I thought. Lounging outside in a deck chair drinking a beer is a much better way to while away the brew day than pacing the kitchen and steaming up the house. I used a buddy's Immersion...

    Weldless installation

It came with fat round o-rings. I discovered my issue. My " 13/16" hole was just a touch too small. It felt like the hole I needed was actually about halfway between the 13/16" and 7/8" step. There was a slight raise in the middle of the nipple that was stopping everything from coming flush...

    Raising up the burner

One day I will have a cool brew rig, but like many I'm in the garage/driveway with a keggle on a turkey frier burner. Is there a trick to raising up the keg off the SQ14 burner to get a good gravity flow (like through a CFC) or should I just be prepared to lift the (hot) keg to my workbench...

    Weldless installation

It's a weldless fitting from Bargain Fittings -- http://www.bargainfittings.com/index.php?route=product/product&path=46&product_id=91 I'm putting it on a keg - I think that it just came with the nipple cranked in -- I"ll give it a shot -- i suspected that the o-ring was not right -- i just...

    Weldless installation

I got my weldless bulkhead from Bargain Fittings (nice piece of equipment) -- I got my hole cut just about perfectly witha 13/16 step bit and just a have a few questions. 1) I thought I was supposed to teflon tape the nipple fitting that goes into the ball valve -- that sucker is in there...

    Replacement Collar for Draft tower

I got some old draft tower/tap parts off craigslist pretty cheap, mainly for the taps that were included, there was a draft tower that I may or may not use, but, since I wen to the trouble of cleaning it up I thought I might as well see what it would take to get it looking pretty. There was...

    Simplest (?) Keggle Cutting Jig

Got this all set up to grind tomorrow -- my kids are asleep in the bedroom over the garage, so I guess I have to wait to cut the top off. Thanks for the simple tip!

Ok so this could be a dumb question

If you are a ******* like me, make sure you don't leave the temp probe on the outside and shut the top. I luckily just had a keg of Apfelwein in. Frozen solid. Tastes pretty good after thawing. So no harm.

    old cornelius faucet

Huh . . . I just happened upon one of these myself . . . did you ever find any info?

    Corny keg maintenance

I have a corny that seemed to ooze a little bit of liquid (maybe I overfilled, it was pretty close to the top. Is this normal or should I do some maintenance like replace the poppets? The oozing stopped once the pressure went up a bit, so maybe something is just stuck in there.

    Old-ish CO2 bottle

Even if it looks like it has seen better days? I am admittedly a complete noob when it comes to CO2 tanks -- for all I know they will be giving me one that looks crappier when I exchange!

    Score!

That is just crazy - nice score for you!

    Old-ish CO2 bottle

So, I picked up a 10# CO2 bottle used on CL today (actually it was right by my wife's work so I sent her to do my dirty work) -- the bottle obviously is going to need to be tested, but it is currently holding gas. I paid $25, so it's not the end of the world if I got ripped off. I called...

To keg or not to keg

I'm slowly accumulating the gear I need as it pops up at a good deal on craigslist. I think I would rather go all grain before sinking the money into a full-on kegging setup.

    glug glug YUM!

Two batches done! Oktoberfest kit and an old peculier old ale clone. Tasted my first brews this week. I am hooked! Thanks for answering my daft questions.

How many gallons of EdWort's Apfelwein have been made?

18,668 + 6 (my first batch of the stuff, sounds great!) = 18674

Getting started in kegging - room to grow

So, the main equipment difference is the distributor/regulator. I like the advice about the price difference with four bundled kegs. I'll keep it in mind.

Getting started in kegging - room to grow

What is the best way to ensure that I have room to grow into a 4-keg system if I only have the money for one or two right now. Basically what is the difference in equipment (regulators, CO2, lines) if you decided to add a keg or two later on?

    Need advice on German Beer

+1 I agree that this is accurate German, though I prefer the term besoffenen to betrunken, but that's my Bavarian experience talking. Funny, I was thinking about this about twenty minutes ago. I wonder what the homebrew scene is like in Germany. Over there the equivalent to BMC is what we...
