American Pale Ale Bee Cave Brewery Haus Pale Ale

Brewed this yesterday afternoon. Bumped my grains up 15 % to make up for lower efficiency. Came out with OG of 1.056. Woke up this morning to see a nice active krausen. This is going to be a good one :)

Double IPA Dogfish Head 90 Minute Clone

I just put into secondary and did first dry hop. My OG was 1.078 but 1.013 now. Tastes a tad bitter. Hoping it will sweeten.

Irish Red Ale Raging Red Irish Red Ale

Almost 4 weeks bottled and even better than last week. Last week was good but had a bitter after taste. That has mellowed and it's one tasty beer now.

Double IPA Dogfish Head 90 Minute Clone

Brewed this yesterday. I had bought the Thomas Amber malt in two 1 pound bags and made the boneheaded mistake of crushing and adding all of it. I also came up a tad short on the OG with 1.078. We'll see how it turns out

    Fruit Beer Requiem Raspberry

Bottled today. FG of 1.010. 6 ABV. Very tart. I stuck the outlet end of my siphon hose into a bazooka strainer to keep the seeds out of the bottling bucket. Worked like a charm.

    Fruit Beer Requiem Raspberry

Just threw this in secondary with 2 pounds of homegrown frozen black raspberries (not blackberries. Huge difference) and 1 pound of homegrown frozen red's. I did an all grain. It tasted nutty and nice before I added the fruit. The black raz really gave it color. Cant wait to taste it when...

Mixed Opinions on Diacetyl Rest For Lager

I'm in the 6th day of primary with a Vienna Lager. Yeast is Saflager 34/70. Terminal target is 1.015 OG was 1.06. Reading today was 1.022 I'm planning on starting rest today. There is however still krausen cover. Should I wait?

Mixed Opinions on Diacetyl Rest For Lager

I've heard varying opinions. 1) Start rest when at 75% of FG 2) Start rest after 21 days in primary 3) Start rest when at FG. Thoughts?

    Tweaking a lager recipe

I would like a wee bit maltier than the typical German Pilsner

    Tweaking a lager recipe

So I would like to try to mash using the 1 quart per pound of grain rule. Can anyone give me a mash temperature schedule for the Vienna?

    Tweaking a lager recipe

Ok thanks. My other brews have all been partial like this one( Grains and extract). I had actually bought an extra bag of Pilsen Light DME to raise the gravity anyway.

    Tweaking a lager recipe

Hi all, I'm a newb and have had success with stout, IPA and Porter. Now I have this fairly simple recipe for lager and I was wondering what the more experienced homebrewers would add or change to make it better. https://beerbrew.com/downloads/Recipes/LoudmouthLager.pdf I'm using 2 packets of...

length of time for a liquid yeast starter

Hi all, I will be brewing a Rogue Mocha Porter knockoff with WLP051 next week and have ordered a stirplate. The youtube video I saw showed the guy boiling and cooling 2 cups water to 1/2 cup DME before adding the yeast. Do you folks recommend doing it this way? If so, would you subtract the...
