Poll: Do you have, or plan to get, an electric car?

Any Ford Mach-E owners here? Local dealerships have a lot of cars stacked up with low prices, incentives and low to no APRs. California Route 1 version has 312 miles of range and looks great. It's not a NACS plug car (yet), but Ford is supposedly shipping out CCS to NACS adapters to work on...

    SVBS and hop pellets

In my Brewzilla, I use cheap, muslin bags to contain my hops and use a 95% hop utilization rate in Brewfather. Seems to work well, and easy to clean up afterwards. No clogged pumps. Hops are extremely toxic to dogs, so I am careful to get every bit in cleanup. I also use a Blichmann Hop Rocket...

In search of...predictable mash efficiency for differing batch sizes & gravities

I am relatively new to competitions and often try very hard to 'hit' the Brewfather predicted OG & FG. Makes me very happy when a beer turns out pretty close or exactly as predicted. And, brewers often mention that predictability and consistency are cornerstones to great brewing. I was lucky...

    Flotit

Count me as another very happy Flotit 2.0 user. Bought 5 or 6 of them and never had a problem. Beer is definitely clearer out of one, but it's also really great for keeping out keg-hopped gunk out of the posts. I also have a random assortment of kegs and keeping which liquid tube goes with which...

    Brewzilla Gen4 Discussion/Tips Talk

I am using a brew bag from (The Brew Bag-Designed for Brew In A Bag-This is your LAST brew bag!) sized for outside the malt pipe, and it works very well. Used this setup for almost a year. Every batch the bag catches about 1/8lb of malt 'gunk' and I have never had a clogged pump when using it.

    Brewzilla Gen4 Discussion/Tips Talk

Dozens of times, Gen 3 and Gen 4. No problem with either. I hookup the exchilerator right to the top camlock and it cools to garden hose temp in one pass, straight to my fermentor.

Saison Parfait (by Bootleg Biology) appreciation thread

Any suggestions for the ‘optimal’ fermentation temperature for this yeast? Just bought this yeast for the first time and excited to see what 100% attenuation tastes like in a Saison.

I am also interested in one, if there are extras out there.

WLP096 FrankenYeast Blend...anyone try it yet??

I have a pouch of this yeast and not sure what to use it in. I would really appreciate any thoughts or comments by anyone who has used this. I usually brew with competition in mind, so I am completely unsure what style this might be most viable in (or not). Thank you in advance! WL link here...

Experienced homebrewer trying wine making for first time, needs advice

I've been brewing for many years. While my early results were okay, I've grown with homebrewing to the point where my beer results are earning medals. However, my early attempts, many years ago, with plastic buckets and such to make wine has been less than stellar. My wife is the wine drinker...

Kegland, have you found that the HED lowers mash efficiency? Are there any downsides to using one?

Any thoughts or experience using BRY-97 for a Wheatwine or other high gravity wort?

NEW Product Announcement - Spike Glycol Chiller

Asking a question not to make a point, but because I am genuinely curious...is there a reason why most glycol chillers do not incorporate pumps into the unit design? Is it a reliability issue and trying to make it easy to replace pumps if needed?

Poll: Do you have, or plan to get, an electric car?

Drove a Hertz Tesla 3 rental car in the Dallas area recently. After driving for a few days and putting on about 150 miles on the standard range car (240 miles?), I hit a Supercharger near the airport before turning it back in. Hooked it up, walked inside (it was a large gas station with...

Does dry hopping with yeast in suspension actually reduce hop aroma?

Just started experimenting with a homemade antiox blend (45% AA, 45% SMB, 10% Brewtan-B) in my mash, and this thread explained to me why I missed my mash pH by a good amount last batch. Of course the AA lowers the pH. Wish Brewfather took this into account.

    Amarillo + Citra + Simcoe = GROSS

This thread reminds me that one of the hardest things to figure out with recipe creation is hop pairings. Hand smelling and making hop teas doesn't equate to a fermented beer result very well. So hard to know what works and doesn't...until you drink it. And, one person's fav hop is another's...

    Bewzilla Gen4 or Grandfather v3 G30

Either will mash grains with about the same efficiency and ease of use. It's more about which ecosystem you want to buy into, and what differentiating features matter in your mind. I've got a BZ Gen4 65L, which I upgraded to from a BZ 3.1.1 65L. The AIO ease of use and cleanup just cannot be...

    Greetings from Belgium!

Welcome! The Belgian beer you just have access to just makes me thirsty. Bucket list experience for me would be a Beer & Bicycle tour there. Happy Brewing!
