Newbie question - can I double a batch without issue?

I wish I had a single batch to compare it to.

ale temp drop during first 12 hrs

It's up. It's bubbling quite nicely. I have a feeling I'm going to need a blowoff on this one too. It's bubbling quickly and I'm seeing foam getting into the airlock already.

Any brew clubs or groups in Columbus, OH?

I now have 10 gal of holiday ale in the primaries. A buddy and I brewed it this Saturday. I got the swamp cooler set up but I'm still tweaking the heat stage. I need a bigger heater for where I want to keep it now that the temperature has been dropping. The guy from my salt water club gave me...

ale temp drop during first 12 hrs

looks like it is trying to wake up. It's still slow but about double what it was earlier today. It's doing about 4 small bubbles a minut now. On the other hand, the other one is doing about 1 big bubble a sec out of the big 1.5"(I think)blow off tubing.

ale temp drop during first 12 hrs

I've got slow bubbles now. This is actually 5gal of a 10 gal batch. The other carboy was kept where this one is now. The one that stayed about 70deg is bubbling like mad. I had to put a blow off on it. The one in question is bubbling once every minute or so.

ale temp drop during first 12 hrs

Nervous newbie here. I brewed a holiday ale kit last night, pitched the yeast pack to the carboy and put it in a nice safe spot where I've been monitoring the temp for the last few weeks. Well, we had a temp drop last night and when I woke up, the internal temp was at 60deg. I moved it to...

    Water Volume Measuring Stick/Rod

After reading this I'm thinking of taking my dremel and putting a little score mark on my stainless stirring spoon at gallon increments. I could just add one gallon, mark the spoon. Add another gallon, mark the spoon. I like the idea of using stainless or plastic after cooling the wort although...

Newbie question - can I double a batch without issue?

Excellent. I did a test run with 8gal of just water the other day. It's a pretty big gas stove with a large center burner. It took a little while but I was able to get a good rolling boil. Thanks!

Newbie question - can I double a batch without issue?

Newbie question here. I am about to brew an extract kit that calls for starting with 2.5gal of water ending with ~5gal. I was going to split the batch after bottling with a buddy who will be brewing with me. I was thinking that if I double the batch, I could have a corboy for each of us. Can I...

Using the Ranco for Fermentation Control?

I have an AquaLogic TD115DN 2 stage controller on my swamp cooler. I use a differential of 1. These instructions might help. I was having trouble until I read that stage 2 must be in C2 mode to work properly...

    Blichmann brew gear and more

I received a response to my first PM about the burner saying that unfortunately I was not the first PM for it. I sent another one about other items a couple of days later but did not hear back on that one. He did say that he got responses on everything and was going to be following up with them...

    Wood collar not sitting flush

The only way to get straight wood from them is to wait several weeks until the wood is finally good and dry, then rip it on a table saw to get a straight edge. They just spit it out too quickly to do it properly. A real lumber yard is always best when you can get to one.
