    GOOD on Netflix STREAMING?

I keep hearing Daredevil is good, but I'm generally not a fan of comic book superhero movies. I liked the first X-men, The Dark Knight movies, Iron Man was OK, and the Edward Norton Hulk movie was decent. Other than that, I can't get through them without Rifftrax.

    garlic beer?

Summit hops taste like garlic to me. You should use a bunch of that.

Funny things you've overheard about beer

Maybe there's no grain. Could be all corn/rice syrup and/or other processed fermentables.

    Review of 30 dry hops

I had an all Apollo IPA one time at the Old Hickory Taproom in Hickory NC. It could have been confused with a full pint of cat urine. I hated it. I get a lot of metallic bite from Amarillo when used on its own or in heavy flavor additions. Waaaay overpriced. Yup, Summit is all garlic IMO. No...

    Better Call Saul

Sadly I think Jimmy's concern for his brother will make him rush into the print shop and give away the whole debacle. Perhaps he will be brought up on a laundry list of charges and is forced into a position where he is forced to abandon the name McGill. We clearly see the hesitation to blow his...

    So who's brewing this weekend?

Wow, this thread will be 7 years old on the 24th! Maybe I should brew something to celebrate!

    Better heating for ferm chamber

I cut the end off an old cell phone charger, soldered the leads to a pair of 80mm PC fans I pulled from an old unused computer case, and zip tied the fans to a wire rack in the freezer. It's pretty simple but does the truck. I also put one or two of the Eva-Dry reusable dehumidifiers in front...

    Better heating for ferm chamber

Take the advice to keep a PC fan running all the time. I use the myheat as well, aimed away from the carboy, but I have a pair of PC fans always on and have not had any problems with temps differing top to bottom.

Seeking help from double batch Brewers

My drummer and his brew buddy have an old sabco 3 vessel single tier system. They get up early and brew four 10 gallon batches in one day. FOUR! I've been there to see it done. They just crank em out. Clean as they go, measure and weigh everything the night before. They also brew in a big barn...

Secondary regulator - help on finding best price

You won't be disappointed. I have Micromatic premium regulators on both my CO2 and Nitro setups. This is after having many other budget brands that all failed. I've had the Micromatics running trouble free for years. It's cheaper because you only need to buy them once, and you can keep all the...

    So who's brewing this weekend?

I just finished making 5 gallons of Kombucha tea. This will be the first time I've made enough to put it on tap.

Mash out question regarding temp. & step process

@mclaughlindw4 I appreciate your humility here. You are taking the advice and are willing to rethink your process. Well done. Looking at the pics of your mash tun, my first thought is that the braid is stretched a bit at the connection points, maybe leaving some gaps that are letting bigger...

Mash out question regarding temp. & step process

Sounds to me like you need to fix the problems with your mash tun's filtering. We shouldn't need to qualify the generalities about batch sparging to include equipment failure. Just another piece of anecdotal evidence, but I batch sparge as fast as possible using cold water and hit my numbers...

Simple Souring Method - No New Equipment?

Brett won't sour your beer, you'd need bacteria for that. Lacto, Pedio, Aceto. The method would probably work though. If you mash high so there are enough complex sugars for the bugs to work on you'll get more sour. You'd need some kind of airlock on each bottle to avoid making malt vinegar...

    GOOD on Netflix STREAMING?

Pee Wee Herman?! Ashton Kutcher?! John Stamos? (April fools, I know) You guys know Netflix has Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul, Butch & Sundance, Top Gear, Firefly, The IT Crowd, Iron Monkey, Black Hawk Down, Rounders, The Score, Planet Earth, Freaks and Geeks, Psych, several John Wayne movies...

    Water treatment.....or not

Calculating and targeting a specific water profile per recipe will always make better beer than guessing or doing nothing. Give it a try, it's worth the effort. Definitely if you're doing all grain batches.

Has anyone ever tried carbonating their keg with NOS? :P

I could drink one in 10 seconds.
