I think I over carbonated my keg

100+ is not conducive to brewing but it is conducive to drinking a very, very cold beer. Luckily I still have some raspberry wheat I previously brewed for my wife left over. Zacster, although I feel your pain, it comforts me to know that I'm not alone. Thanks to all!

I think I over carbonated my keg

thanks for the sympathy. so in the future, i should be ok leaving it at 10 psi as long as the liquid out adapter is not hooked in, unless i'm drinking the beer.

I think I over carbonated my keg

It is a ball lock keg. I did have the liquid out connected. When I found it the tubing had come off the the barb connector. All other connections were anally checked before kegging. It was a picnic tap and I did bleed it before i adjusted the psi from 30 to 10.

I think I over carbonated my keg

Problem of the day; I recently kegged on June 30th for the first time. I checked on it this morning and the floor behind my bar was sticky and not a drop was left of the 4 gallons that was in my keg. Let me give you a run down of the situation and if there are any tips you guys can give me I...

    Warm carbonating

I recently kegged my first batch of beer. I let it carbonate warm. Should I have chilled it before I carbonated it or does it matter?

    Siphon tubing

After cleaning my siphon tubing and letting it dry, it had a lot of stuff on the inside wall. I figured I would boil the tube because I've used it quite a bit. After the boil the tubing was no longer clear, it was white (you can't see through it any more). Should I be worried? Can I still...

    SMaSH recipes?

I'm a little bummed my HBS didn't have amarillo. I went with 2 row & palisades. 1st all grain batch was fun. I got some great ideas from you guys for future endeavors as well. Thanks!

No action in air lock. Worry?

If I killed some of them off, will I get an adequate fermentation?

No action in air lock. Worry?

Update... I got a little action. Just started bubbling. I tend to panic too early. Thanks!

Whats all that stuff in my boil kettle?

Yesterday I brewed my 1st all grain batch. 2 row / palisade SMaSH. During the boil I had a lot of white-ish particles rolling around. It started to form a film on the surface. I'm assuming this was protein but I'm not sure. Any insight? Please tell me this is normal.

No action in air lock. Worry?

I brewed a SMaSH beer yesterday and 24 hours later there is no action in my air lock. I got impatient waiting for my wort to chill and I think I pitched the yeast too soon. The temp. was about 100*. Should I worry? Should I continue to wait or re-pitch? I've been holding off on a wort...

    Re-vamping my cleaning/sanitation methods...

Thanks for all the good info. I will use that dish washer bottle sterilizing thing. So basically..., MT, HLT, kettle & all tubing involved should be reasonably cleaned. Fermenter, secondary, bung, air lock, siphon, bottles, bottling bucket, keg should be cleaned thoroughly & sanitized. 1st...

    Re-vamping my cleaning/sanitation methods...

Thanks guys! Another reason I like this sight is the quick response time. So, pretty much, clean everything with b-brite? (minus pot & caps) Spray/rinse everything with star san? Star san bottles? I'm curious about the bottles breaking in the dishwasher as well. Cleaning bottles takes so...

    Re-vamping my cleaning/sanitation methods...

Hello all! I'm in need of a little advice. I've done some research on this topic but I value the opinions of the folks here than any where else. I am preparing to make the transition from extract brewing to all grain. I feel that I am going way over board with my cleaning/sanitation & it's...

    Too soon for extract flavoring?

Good evening all! Yesterday I put a wheat beer in to the secondary. I inadvertently put ~3 oz of raspberry flavoring extract in. I intended to do this at bottling. In a rush I screwed up. Question is... will this compromise the final product?

    SMaSH recipes?

Thanks for all the suggestions! I think I'll start off with 2 row & amarillo. 2 row seems to be a pretty common base malt. Next one I'll play with is Marris Otter.
