I think I added dry yeast when wort was too hot

Yeast do all the heavy lifting ... goto below 70, then pitch...treat them well, and they will reciprocate

    Question on efficiency

70% is good... see if you can maintain it (no reason you shouldn't stay there) I am now getting abt 65%, but it is pretty consistent batch to batch, which is what is important to me..if i hit 70%, there will be no parade, just a higher OG bec Promash is dialed in at 65%..

    heating the fermentor?

I do the same in the basement, using a muck bucket and a 75deg aquarium heater...keep the bath at abt 68 deg for ususally 7-10 days Then I remove better bottle and place on table to chill for a few weeks, then keg
  15. kappclark

    5 generations, why?

I do the same(except I wash) - $6 -$7 for the White labs...after repitching a few times, with starters, it comes to maybe $1 - 1.50/batch before I get a new vial (includes the cost of the DME for the starters)...When I get a canner, I am going to experiment with slants...at that point,if...

    Hbt blocked!

Yes - whether you do it with a phone, your own laptop, ipad etc, you are doing it on company time, which is unethical, isunless the employer has a set policy allowing this..
