New England IPA Pina Colada Oat Cream NEIPA

Report back how it turns out. The oat malt is awesome for sparging, the husks work similar to rice hulls

Spice, Herb, or Vegetable Beer Triple Chocolate Milk Stout - Chocolate Lovers Only!

You could add more lactose, that would sweet it up or mash higher around 158

    Lime Peel vs. Lime Zest

My question is which one do you prefer (given you tried both)? My LHBS has brewers best lime peel that is dried out and in a bag or zesting your own limes? Thinking of doing a coconut/lime beer

New England IPA Pina Colada Oat Cream NEIPA

We definitely have different ideas of what a milkshake ipa recipe should look like. In an milkshake ipa (in my opinion and with all respect to you especially since it's such a new and open style) you want all those aromas and flavors from your hops to complement the lactose and I just don't see...

New England IPA Pina Colada Oat Cream NEIPA

I have not, I usually stick with 1318 because I don't do a lot of NEIPAs due to the cost of hops and not being able to wash the yeast. Mind sharing the coconut lime recipe?

New England IPA Pina Colada Oat Cream NEIPA

It'a pretty hazy with the 50% oats. You'd be surprised of how much bitterness you get from 4oz @ 0 and 4oz @ whirlpool. I would say it's around 20-30 IBUs. I have done NEIPAs with earlier hops and I find them too bitter for my taste. Nice part about lactose is you can add it anytime during the...

New England IPA Pina Colada Oat Cream NEIPA

Ya I didn't want it to be too sweet, especially since I had the honey malt in there. The sweetness was pretty spot on, hops are definitely the star of the show. I don't have a temperature control so I fermented on the warmer side of the 1318 at around 70F. The hops flavors are super tropical...

New England IPA Pina Colada Oat Cream NEIPA

Got a recommendation from brulosophy to mix 50/50 sabro(tropical/coconut) and bru-1(pineapple) in an ipa and was reading into milkshake ipas and oat creams so I mixed it all together and what turned out was my favourite NEIPA I have brewed to date: Mash 60 mins @ 152F 7lbs 2 Row (50%) 4lbs...

    Peanut butter problems?

Honestly just use the brewers best flavoring. It is really good. Messing around with fats and real peanuts will cause more problems than it's worth. All the commerical pbs I have use extract as well

What flavors did you get from enigma?

    Wine Pilsner?

I am interested in making a very crisp and dry malt base and looking to get all the wine flavors from these 3 hops: Nelson sauvin Enigma Hallertau blanc All my hops will be late/whirlpooled. Anyone have any experience with these hops and a ratio I should shoot for. I heard nelson is pretty...

    Dry Hopping

My dry hopping experience over about 8 years of brewing: -Hops drop out naturally over time, wiggling the carboy helps this process happen -Throwing hops directly into beer and not cold crashing results in hop particle in beer. Reason for this is sometimes after 7 days of dry hopping the hops...

    What fermenter to buy?

Was super excited for the fermzilla, but after I read it having a 2 year expiry date I think I am gonna stay clear. I would ignore it, but if something were to blow I dont want 6 gallons of beer on my floor. Can't believe in this age of technology that is the best we can do

Weyermann Barke Pilsner - I made FIRE!

What's your fermentation schedule? I always do ales, thinking of doing some lagering and might try this recipe out once I get your feedback on the melanoiden

    Dark Saison Mash Temp??

I am looking to make a dark saison with this malt bill: 6lb vienna 6lb pilsner 8oz midnight wheat 4oz carafa special ii 4oz chocolate malt Belgian 3724 Was thinking of adding lb of dextrose or candi syrup, still on fence. Do I want a low (149F) mash temp to dry the beer out along with sugar...

    Milkshake IPA base?

    Whats your typical mash temp?

    Milkshake IPA base?

Looking to do a pina cola ipa using 50/50 bru-1 (pineapple) and sabro (tropical fruit/coconut) with some lactose. What do you use for a grain bill? Thinking 2 row, white wheat, oats

Suggestions for a beer to determine and enhance a mystery wild hop

I would make a pale with s-05 and seeing how you dont know the AA% I would put majority of hops at end or whirlpool

    Frozen keg while pressurizing

Not sure if you opened the keg, but in the past it's not the keg but the beer line going to the tap that had a bit of frozen beer in the line for me. I just inspected the line and put it in a bowl of hot water until I could pull from the keg again

British Brown Ale Aberdeen Brown Ale (NewCastle Clone) AG

To follow up with a side by side comparison...the color is spot on. My beer is much more fuller and has quite a bit of chocolate flavor which is weird based on the malt bill. Like said above I think I got a skunky can of newcastle, but I actually preferred mine more. My beer isnt quite as clear...
